Hey hope all is going well with you. Yeah for the Apple versions check amazon reviews for the ODBII, there's a lot out their but some are junk, reviews can stear you to a decent one that doesn't cost much. Good luck with the jeep issue, dealers can be a pain. I had to change to find one that was better to work with, try a few until you can find one. Hope you are liking the Jeep otherwise!

Re: Is it Normal to be told to wait a month to check a check engine light?

You know what I must say besides these minor check engine light issues as well as few other minor issues the jeep is pretty good.. I feel I got a good balance of luxury and durability so for that I'm grateful.. Now had I known when you buy a new car that customer service would be something you have to look into as well I probably would have invested a lil more time and money in other options.. Love jeep but being to have to only get rentals (cheap ones at that) for a few days and only if you have the lifetime warranty to still get treated like this is not what I expected.. I think 60k on a car should get you what other German dealerships get you and that's catering service and loaners at minimal.. I think that alone would please me.. Again I love
My jeep and I still love my 04 that I use for more of my rugged adventures they just need to step this up.. I still haven't done any of my upgrades Bc I really wanted to break the car in and see if I got a lemon or something worth investing in.. Hopefully in spring I'll add the minor touches if the car treats me right..

I'd say that the dealership experience could and should be improved... a lot. I've never been to a high end dealership/service department to figure out how though.

Re: Is it Normal to be told to wait a month to check a check engine light?

I was very surprised by the dealership experience today. Three dealers told me they couldn't even look at the car for at least a week. Luckily it's a minor issue so I can wait until mid December for an appointment, but I would be very frustrated if something was really wrong and I had to leave the car there for a week before they could even look at it.

All three dealers said they are backed up with recall work.I like this car and only have had minor issues so far, but didn't expect the service to be this much of an issue.

I agree with you totally.. It's where they are lacking at most to be honest.. I kinda feel dumb to have done so much leg work for my summit to be let down at the dealership.. I think that drives me crazy.. You know the saying though you get what you pay for.. Well even though I paid a decent amount for my jeep for the same amenities I would be paying another 15k + but would i definitely wouldn't be waiting for is service or dared to have been given a cheap rental..

Re: Is it Normal to be told to wait a month to check a check engine light?

I just got an email from the dealership that actually let me make an appointment, and they are saying 12/12 doesn't guarantee me a spot in a bay, it is just the soonest I can drop it off.

This is getting ridiculous. Maybe I can find an independent shop that can replace the oil pressure sensor in a day.

Wow... That is ridiculous! Is that something that should be covered under your warranty? If so why should you have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed in a timely fashion? And if you do can you be reimbursed?

For the factory warranty the only area they really give you any latitude to have work done anywhere else is if you need to have repair work done in an emergency situation. Then you can apply for reimbersment consideration. If i were you guys id call jeep corporate and tell them you have check engine lights coming on and no one will schedule you soon.
Chysler has gotten in a trouble and fined over the recall feascos of taking so long to get recall vehicles fixed and parts availability. So sounds like they are moving recalls to the front and everyone else to the back. That might be ok for oil changes but not break downs or check engine lights which could br a variety of things. Good luck

Re: Is it Normal to be told to wait a month to check a check engine light?

My lease is up in a few months, I really would keep driving with the light on, now that I know it's just the sensor. But with this cold weather, I would really like to have the remote start back.

I am hoping to find an independent shop next week that will do warranty work. But you are right I should call jeep corporate. Since there is a TSB out for this part, I am wondering if now it's going to take forever to get the part.

I definitely will be scheduling a spot with Hudson tomorrow and if I'm not happy with the date I will be calling cooperate as suggested.. This isn't how you treat your existing customers who are only trying to take care of there cars as you would like us to.. On the good side I got inside access to buy a new car.. I think you lose that access once you buy though... Lol
