I am hoping to find an independent shop next week that will do warranty work. But you are right I should call jeep corporate. Since there is a TSB out for this part, I am wondering if now it's going to take forever to get the part.

Good luck my friend.. Good luck

It's really disheartening to read this thread. I thought it was just the dealerships around me but clearly there's a huge problem with jeep service. The worst is even when I can get an appointment, they can't resolve the issue.

Best of luck and hope you get this resolved.

Would love to hear a review on the code reader!

Wow wait so is this a nationwide thing? I'm in New Jersey where are you if you don't mind saying? This might be a big thing.. I'm gonna call and schedule a appt tomorrow and call corporate as well depending on the date they schedule me..

I just used the blue driver and this thing rocks.. Very simple to use and read and is has very detailed information about your car.. Temp, ambient temp, load, rpm engine codes and explanations of the code. how many miles you've been driving with the problem.. I'm gonna take a few screen shots of everything tomorrow just to show.. what I do remember is I've been driving 612 miles with a P0456 code which is a small EVAP leak and the last time it threw an engine code was 2022 miles ago which is when I called to make a appt a while ago and ended up having my mechanic look at it.. So I don't think it's a big problem but none the less the ideal thing is to get it fixed.. I think this is the 3rd time it threw the code and all they do is flash it instead of fixing it and blame it on the gas cap which my car is cap less smh..

Must be a regional problem. I can call my dealer today for an appointment and they will ask me when I want to bring it in. They always let me wait for it also. Enjoy the coffee and donuts while I wait.

My local dealer has appointments available as soon as...tomorrow...based on the online scheduling system.

Re: Is it Normal to be told to wait a month to check a check engine light?

I've never had a problem making an appointment for service or recall work. Of course, it doesn't pay trying to make an appointment for recalls if the parts aren't currently available. I usually wait awhile before I try. Haven't had any problems that way.

I'm not making any apologies for poor service departments but if recall parts suddenly become available they're going to have appointments backed up to get that work done. In those cases it's kind of hard to blame the dealership for a problem FCA created.

I guess so.. But we're talking since early October and we are still having 1 month minimal waiting periods? My issue is very minimal but since then a few minor problems have added up.. To not have my car looked at all because my check engine light isn't flashing is a lil annoying.. I guess I have to wait for my problem to get bigger and cause bigger problems down the line for them to look at it..

I understand, that would annoy me as well.

I live in Boston. The dealers in my area are usually scheduling appointments 2 to 4 weeks out. I had to fight with the service advisor to get an earlier appointment when our KL's transmission light came on and the truck left us stranded for the third time. My bigger gripe is that they seldom resolve anything. 3 trips in for transmission issues with no improvement. We finally ended up getting out of the lease and into a 2016 KL.

Now I'm 4 appointments in on trying to get a loud suspension clunk noise resolved on my 15 GC. It's pretty much hopeless. It's a shame but the lousy service is ruining owning our two jeeps for me. I'm at the point of saying never again.
