You must have spoken to a new person. The deductible charge is definitely "per visit" and not "per item".

You are probably right. They were a bit unsure about a couple of questions I asked. They wouldn't budge on price so I passed. My son is a ASE mechanic and I paid for his education so I figure he owes me.

Re: Is MaxCare Lifetime a good care?

The max care warranty is excellent, like said it covers everything except maintainence items. I had it, not the life time plan on my last car and my girls liberty. I worked at a d-c-j dealership and the deductible is per visit and all inclusive you pay the deductible the rest is picked up by the warranty including taxes and labor. As a note if the dealership wouldn't lower the price you can buy it from another dealership, direct from Chrysler or online. I also know people who Got a quote online brought it to the local dealership and they matched the price. Your son may be a great mechanic but the parts are expensive too.

Mmartin, I already did what you said and I got nowhere. They told me that they had no room to move. Based on past vehicles and thier repair history I figure I will not lose if I have the labor cost out of the picture.

Re: Is MaxCare Lifetime a good care?

You also have a year or so to purchase the plan without penalty. It doesn't really help you much untill the 3 year factory warrantee expires anyway.

One benefit that takes effect right away is reimbursement for rentals if you take the WK2 in for service.

Very true. The dealer I bought mine from also gives a lifetime warranty on the engine for zero dollars. They also told me that includes all components that are attached to the engine such as the alternator, water pump. ect. I do, although have to have all my work that is required to be performed at this dealer such as brakes, tire rotation, ect.

Thats funny, when I almost bought a Jeep at Huffines in Plano Texas the salesman and the sales manager told me I had to purchase the plan (for $2300) with the Jeep. I liked the salesman, but the manager (or whoever comes to do the real negotiating) came across as a cheeseball. I went to another dealer and received a better deal without even asking.

True, however from my personal experience, I found it was easier to negoiate the price of the Maxcare Lifetime, at the same time I was making a deal with them on a $40k+ vehicle. I ended up paying $1,850.00 for the Lifetime Maxcare with a $100.00 deductible. Additionally, at this point I was also able to build it right into the financing of the truck, so I didn't even really feel it!

Re: Is MaxCare Lifetime a good care?

You can get it online, there is a whole thread on pricing here somewhere. I bought mine from http://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/default.aspx which is just a website for a Jeep dealer in Illinois. My WK2 lifetime was ~1800 as well, bought in 12/11.

There is also http://www.chryslerwarrantys.com/.
