Is saddle leather "treated"

When I bought my Volvo in 2005, I had the option then of natural leather. The problem was it was untreated, and not stain resistant. The dark leather I got instead has been great and still looks new after 5.5 years. Is the saddle in the WK2 treated (and therefore easy to care for), or "natural" and easily stained?

Re: Is saddle leather "treated"

I picked up my Blackberry W/saddle Overland last night. The leather feels diifferent then that of the other overland nappa leathers. The best way to decribe it I can think of its the same feel as eggshell paint compared to gloss paint when running your hand over it. Does it need to be treated ? I am concerned about it staining .

I was hoping it would feel like I was riding in a saddle

Re: Is saddle leather "treated"

I think only King Ranch Model Ford Trucks and Expeditions have REAL saddle leather, and those do need to be treated.

Re: Is saddle leather "treated"

I just went outside and checked again. The seats leather is smooth and has a slight gloss to it. The nappa leather on the door panels and center arm rest has more of the eggshell flat finnish to it.

That said I love It!!! The color looks great. I had many salesmen and Wk2 shoppers at the dealership circling my truck when i got there. All said it was the best looking WK2 they have seen so far. I think i deserve a commision for the all the sales of saddle interiors made at dealership yesterday lol..
