Is there a skid plate to protect the area between transfer case and oil pan?

I was installing front and transfer skid plate over the weekend and noticed that the marked area in the pic is protect just by a plastic plate/cover. Behind the plastic cover, the transmission pan sits and can get damaged real bad if something sticks through the plastic piece.

Is there a part# to protect the area (marked in RED) under the Jeep? I will be installing fuel tank skid plates tonight.

Cheers,
-A

It is plastic, been talked about some here and on a few other forums. As far as I know, steel is not available for the transmission pan. You can get steel to replace the plastic fuel line guard. I think the plastic guard needs to be trimmed anyway to fit the tank shields, where the steel is a direct fit.

Hey Guys,

We're about to release a metal protective plate for this area. If you're interested to know more, check out this thread, (WK2 Lower Front Guard).

Cheers,
Bill

Those parts look great Bill.

Will there be a U.S. supplier for these?

Yeah I'm all for supporting aftermarket both US and Australia but after buying and shipping skids it's cheaper to just have a custom piece made by a good fab shop.

Without a US supplier I doubt there will be too many people willing to pay that much.

Re: Is there a skid plate to protect the area between transfer case and oil pan?

I can't believe more aftermarket shops aren't all over this missing skid plat yet. These would sell like hot cakes for $125 or less.

Maybe the U.S. shops are waiting on their Chinese suppliers for final pricing...

We're currently working on a U.S. Supplier for all of our products. We'll make a big announcement when everything is finalised. Unfortunately it is still at least a few months away.

Cheers,
Bill

What do we (here in the states) do until then? Would hate to try and get something shipped here - still waiting on a order from Murchison from the first week of May

You learn what it's like for our friends down under when they need something from Jeep, including their Jeeps. You wait.

A local machine shop could fabricate something. Or you could do without like everybody has been doing up until now.
