Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

TPMS alerted me of a low tire that had a slow leak.I was able to get it fixed before it went flat.

Keyless entry.

Tilting mirrors when in reverse, mine are turned off they tilt too far down. useless

Never used the flashlight either. I have no idea how bright it is.
I'm going to miss the flipper glass.

I never use the led flashlight(very dim).If i didn't have a rear filper glass i would trade these two for one!

Remote start with auto heat/ac is a must have.
I can't imagine having an enclosed Jeep with out the pano roof. I thought the whole idea of a Jeep was to be open, airy, and adventurous? I do have allergies and sometimes keep the pano roof closed. Even then I always have the shade retracted. I have two Jeep hats I wear when I am in my Jeep. A light beige one for spring/summer and a dark black one for fall/winter. Never had a problem with sun or wind when wearing one of those hats.

The traction control can be linked to TPMS readings, but it's not necessarily required for traction control to function. Many cars had traction control before the US govt required TPMS on all cars.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Must have: Adaptive Cruise Control and memory seats

Don't know how I drove long distances without it and I miss it even more since my ORC module went out disabling it. With both my wife and I trading vehicles often, it would always annoy me to death her settings for the mirrors and seat, but not anymore.

Can live without: Reverse tilting mirrors

Thought I needed this feature and was so glad to have it. Enabled the option. tried it out and hated it, never using it again.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Love the panoroof.

Wished I could get the Summit Interior goodness with an Overland exterior.

As for those Mirrors.. not a fan, an overhead camera would be better for seeing what's around you (see BMW x5 for example).

This is my first SUV in a long time, never had one with flipper glass so I don't know what I'm missing

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Must have: air suspension, pano sunroof, rear air vents, adaptive cruise, V8 engine, Bluetooth connectivity, leather everywhere, the solid 4WD, the solid Maxcare warranty, the real wood, the air conditioned/heated seats, heated steering wheel, solid sound system.

Don't need: basically stuff I don't have. Rear entertainment, 3rd row seat (in fact, I consider it a huge negative - I can go smaller than a JGC but not bigger), better fuel economy would be nice but not really willing to sacrifice performance for it. QD2 seems really nice and I'll try to get it for my next Jeep but this one doesn't have it and didn't fail me last winter. Also, don't really need Jeeps to be cheaper - in fact I'd be willing to pay more if it meant better reliability and/or better dealer service with actual loaner cars.

?! TPMS started back when folks too stupid to check the tires on their Ford Exploders were deemed unworthy of a Darwin Award.

IIRC, it was usually the short wheelbase Exploder, Firestone tires of questionable design, and severe underinflation.

The flashlight is worthless.
I want e-LSDs and a full-size spare that fits.
? I have a full sized spare that fits. Some Kumho model.
I'd prefer a slightly larger well that would allow fitting a true 5th standard wheel and tire, plus a TPMS in the spare so I'd be aware if it were not ready when needed.

TPMS in the tires themselves? Not really, thats why they make guages.
However, it is sorta amusing on long trips across varied weather conditions to see
how much the pressure rises and falls with outside temp and speed.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

I've had my Grand Cherokee less than a month and I already know I'll never be able to go without the Keyless Enter-N-Go. It's just so convenient to leave the keyfob in my pocket, hop in and drive. I'm sure the automatic start with the auto-on heated steering wheel and seat when it's cold will be appreciated in a few months. I also love the always on power in the center console. My last vehicle was a Toyota and they don't offer that.

As for things I could do without, like others have said, the flashlight is useless. Also, I don't have flipper glass, but I had it in my FJ and never used it beyond testing it out a few times when I got the truck. Now, a roll down rear window (like the 4Runner) would be nice.

I had this feature on my 300 and LOVED it. I really wanted it in my Jeep. However, something about the angle they go down didn't work for me so I, too, disabled it.

oh, almost forgot, the vented cooled seats are a must. Cannot believe this is my first vehicle with such a feature, I will never go back.
