Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

I could do with out the pano roof my shade is closed 98% of the time.
I never use the led flashlight(very dim).If i didn't have a rear filper glass i would trade these two for one!

Remote start with auto heat/ac is a must have.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Do without: My appendix, I have no need for it. I cut back on the grass eating several years ago.
Must have: Detachable penis, comes in very handy. It does cause some issues, such as having to buy it back for $17, but overall there are advantages.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Must have: rear view camera because there are big blind spots when backing out. Also flip glass is a must.

Can do without: 4 way lumbar because it isn't as great as I thought it would have been and it doesn't go as high as I'd like it to go.

Hey - don't sell the appendix short...just because "old" science didn't know or understand it's purpose and "evolutionary theories" came to wrong conclusions about it, it does serve a non-critical function in the body. You can live without it, but best not to.

As for the detachable penis...why would in the heck would you want to be without one? LOL

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

Nav, backup camera, 4x4, blind spot warning is darn nice to have in heavy traffic...

Concur on regular sun roof versus pano sun roof ... not a critical thing. The flashlight is a joke...the should have spent the extra 50 for a better one.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

I would dump the sunroof, eco mode, touch screen controls in favor of real buttons.

Should (not must) have flipper glass.

I NEVER use my sunroof. If any of you want it, you can have it for free.
The flashlight is worthless.
I want e-LSDs and a full-size spare that fits.

Re: Is there any feature you can do without or a must have!

I wouldn't want to do away with ANY of the many features the Grand Cherokee has...all those gizmos is one of the main reasons I bought the Overland in the first place. All I ask is Chrysler to get their shit together and work all the bugs out of some of them.

As for my favorite features?

1) Heated steering wheel - I don't like wearing gloves.

2) Remote start - Bring back auto rear window defroster function with a cold remote start Chrysler!

3) Air suspension - Lowering it makes getting in/out for kids & elderly people much easier.

4) 8 sp transmission - When it works properly, it's a nice smooth transmission. Unfortunately there's still bugs to work out with the V6 tranny (hard downshifts into 1st coming to a full stop).

Do without:

- TPMS. The sensors are an unnecessary expense vs. using a tire pressure gauge.

- Heater controls linked thru the touch screen, or automatic climate control altogether. Auto climate control works great on a house. A vehicle, not so much. It would be nice if they put the controls so they're always showing on the touch screen, like in a "bar" along the bottom or something.

I read a while back that the reason for the TPMS is that traction control is dependent on either proper, or a minimum air pressure.

Maybe somebody more in the know can comment on this.

Must have would be - Power windows, flipper glass and back up camera.

I could do without everything else. The stuff that never gets used- Sunroof, although I do like it at night, it's usually too hot to use during the day. Power seats, never had them before and usually find the right spot and leave it there.

What I would like to have, but no longer included or I something I didn't get - Rolling down the windows via the key fob. Fold flat front seat. Roll down back window, think 4runner. Auto driver so I could just never drive.

Could do without the Pano roof, never use. Would like to have front parking sensor and a camera on the Overland model.
