Re: IS this a good deal on a 2013 Overland?

I purchased a Crossfire from Steve White several years ago. They were very professional, delivering everything as promised. I worked with Russell Sturgis. As of a few months ago he was still there. His email at the time was : swmotors707@yahoo.com

They did have a nicely equipped Limited and a few lesser equipped Limiteds and Laredo Xs, but their pricing didn't exactly seem to be impressive. They claimed they priced their cars at invoice, I told them we got special pricing through my employer, they said "we already beat that pricing by selling them at invoice". Um, no, we get them at 1% below invoice.

Maybe their internet department is better? Their front line sales guys didn't seem to be that great. I will say their service department is pretty good though, their facilities on the other hand needed to be upgraded a decade ago.
I haven't purchased from them, but they seem to be a no-hassle place to go for volume-based internet deals. Good reviews, etc and their website outlines their pricing:

SALES PRICE = INVOICE - ALL REBATES - 50% of HOLDBACK

As I read it, no dealer/doc fees (which are just dealer profit padding).

TT&L varies based on buyer's residence.

This should come out to less than the tread lightly deal of 1% under invoice since holdback is 3% of MSRP.

Offer 1% below INVOICE.

Jeep dealers accept that deal all the time.

On a 2013 when the 2014s are only weeks away from hitting the lots? That's just plain foolish. Know the market and offer an aggressively low price. You might be surprised. The dealers are not in a position of strength on the 2013s. It's a buyer's market.

Agreed.

My wife and I paid $36339 OTD yesterday on a 2013 Overland.

I have affiliate pricing through work, and we got $3k in factory rebates - the dealer discounted the vehicle beyond affiliate pricing, but still used the control number.

What was sticker, if you don't mind my asking? What was the price before TTL? If I can get a good deal on a 2013 Limited, I'd be keen on it rather than waiting for 2014s to fill the channel enough to get deals on them. It may be a year or more before 2014s start to get discounted substantially.

Off the top of my head I don't recall...

It doesn't have any additional options, so using the jeep.com build-and-price tool I get a MSRP of $41,185 - which sounds about right.

It was advertised for $34k (included $2k in rebates), and with the additional VW rebate we got it for $33k.

We were prepared to order a Limited with the lux II package and panoramic sunroof, but we couldn't pass this up (affiliate control numbers apply to orders, if you're wondering).

As a side note: I used this particular vehicle as leverage to try and force a different dealer into a lower price on an identical 2011 Overland with 34k miles. They laughed at me and came back with $35.5k OTD, then said the other dealer was dishonest and would never honor the advertised price.

Guess who's laughing now?

For perspective, last fall I had a dealer offer a 2012 Overland V8 RWD demo w/ less than 2k miles for $34k + TT&L inclusive of destination, dealer/doc fees, etc. I had it in writing.

So it is looking like they are staying at $45K with TTL included out thee the door. The MSRP is $47,880. What is the absolute best deal you think I cant get?

Re: IS this a good deal on a 2013 Overland?

If you can wait a couple weeks for the 2014's to come out, you can get a much improved jeep and a year less depreciation. (new transmission, interior, freshened exterior)

To get the best deal, you must visit several dealerships, and buy from the least expensive.

Others have had great success with Bill Pemberton at Woodhouse in Blair Nebraska.
