Our Overland's Advanced Collision Warning feature has gone off seven times in 6000 miles: one legit warning of a possible collision, but six false warnings on empty straightaways.
Goes off occasionally. Only happens on sharp curves at medium to high speed. It's not hard to understand how the radar might pick up an object it construes as a vehicle and set off the warning. It is advanced technology so expect some minor glitches as the tech progresses.
I can usually predict when it will happen, so I don't get surprised by it. If I do get surprised it will probably be because I wasn't paying attention, in which case it will have served its' purpose.
I like the ACC function and drove over 1,000km using it 90% of the time.
Mine falsed about 2 times the whole trip. I did however turn down the range to reduce the falsing. I would think that a big bug would be enough to trick the unit. I would prefer it to be a little over sensitive, than the other way.
Make sure you keep the lens clean as well.
