I regret to say that I am going to be selling my 2012 Jeep Overland. It has nothing to do with the vehicle itself because in the 8,900 miles I have owned it since new, it has been a absolute perfect vehicle in every way. I applaud Chrysler for building such a great vehicle. I think one day I will get back into one and im sure I will be lurking the forums here especially when the 2014's come out ;)
If anyone is interested or knows someone that is let them know I have a perfect, new condition 2012 Overland Mineral Gray/Saddle 4x4 V6 adaptive cruise with 8,900 miles that is now officially for sale. My starting price is KBB private value of $39,600 OBO. I want to see the car go to a good home and would be thrilled if a forum member picked it up.

Thanks everyone for all the great information on this forum, and im glad I was able to contribute to it as well.

James

I currently have two cars and my wife's so three total. It was a tough call between the Jeep and my other vehicle. As much as I love the Overland I just enjoy driving the car more. Not only that but it's way cheaper as well. Down the road I may pick up another Jeep for myself or possibly my wife as she really liked it as well. So it just came down to us not needing three cars, and cost to own and driving enjoyment were the main factors. We will be back someday and I will be keeping my eye out for the 14's :)

Out of curiosity what is your other vehicle?

Nothing crazy or anything, its a 2008 Acura TL Type S that I love.

This is my 2nd gratuitous plug. ( see my reply to your FS). Anyhow, you can part ways with people on a forum however you don't need to turn your so-called post into another FS ad. We get it. You don't need 3 cars. You had an post to sell the truck. No need to post additional pics, links and offers to save money on taxes. Say your goodbyes, reply to them and check the forum as needed. Hope to hear from you again. GLWTS or trade-in
Did I do something to upset you at some point? I wish I knew why my comments regarding buying private party saves in fees in taxes offends you so much. Regardless, IMO its a great selling point and exactly why when not buying new I try to buy private every time.
If you havent noticed I tend to post pictures in every thread I make. If it made this one look too much like a for sale thread I apologize. Even if it did I dont really see what the big deal is to get the word out more to my fellow forum members.

getting repo'ed eh?
lol fortunately no. I have never missed a payment on anything in my life.

I don't get it... the guy is a frequent contributor to this forum and now has to sell his ride. Why the venom? Good luck with the sale JTS- someone will be lucky to get it.
Thank you very much sir thats how I felt when I woke up this morning and read some of the replies. Thanks for the kind words!

The risks of offering reasons or answering questions on a public forum as to why a seller is dumping an almost new vehicle can sometimes lead to mistrust... especially when there's conflicting messages. In my experiences, the "reason" is not always accurate and is typically suspect - if a buyer asked a dealer why a prior owner traded one vehicle for another, do you think you'd get the real story?

Whatever the reason the OP is dumping this vehicle, someone will greatly benefit as the result of depreciation alone. The seller will take about a $6K or more hit to unload this Grand Cherokee. The sales tax benefit on a new vs. used purchase is a given - just simple math.

Good luck with the sale... you may want to delete what appears to be conflicting messages in both threads.

I am an honest person and would never intentionally lie or write misleading information. I went back and read both threads and im not really seeing this conflicting information you speak of. Like I said in both threads im offering my Overland for sale because I currently have two vehicles and the Jeep was the one I decided to sell. I am not being forced to do it, the Jeep isnt being repo'ed or anything like that, but I personally enjoy driving my car more which also happens to be significantly cheaper. So even though it was a very tough choice im letting the Overland go. I havent admitted it, but I know a big part of the reason I dont enjoy the Overland as much is because for whatever reason I opted to go with the V6 in it. Even though I think its a great motor and does well on fuel, it really lacks any of the excitement I look for when driving a vehicle. If I were to do it all over again I would have got the Hemi. Ofcourse even if I had the Hemi I would probably want to sell that as well with the 2014's coming out! Thats just how I am I go through cars pretty often.
I understand what your saying about giving reasons as to why im selling my vehicle, but I have nothing to hide and have already given the real reason im doing it. Besides, most people would probably want some sort of explanation as to why im selling my Jeep with less than 10,000 miles on it.

Good luck with the sale James. It's clear that you have taken good care of your Overland and whoever purchases this vehicle will get a very nice ride. I appreciate all of your prior posts as some of these have helped me with the mods I made to my Jeep. Thanks again

Great GC....if my dad hadn't bought a new one I'm sure he would have been very interested in buying this one as he loves the mineral gray.

I'm sure you'll get it sold quickly. I've sold many vehicles on autotrader so you may want to try that.

Best wishes.

Just wanted to let you guys know the Jeep ended up selling. I was blown away with the amount of interest this thing brought from people all over the country. I guess it was because the color combo and option package I had I dunno. I used autotrader and it sold for my asking price the guy didn't even ask to negotiate. I got what I paid new for the Jeep minus taxes. It was a deal I couldn't pass up so I did it. Looks like its going to a great home near Denver CO. I picked the guy up at the airport and he is currently driving it home and he was thrilled when he saw the Jeep parked in my garage all nicely detailed.
So, for anyone contemplating selling their Jeep if you have a like new condition low mile vehicle they are selling like hot cakes on the used market. I had 4 people lined up after this guy if the deal fell through. Although it was sad to see it go, I will never have gotten that much for my Jeep again so all in all I'm very pleased with how things worked out.

Glad that you got what you were asking for it but sad to see it to go. Hopefully you will come back and get the 2014GC like you talked about!!
