Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

Great news James. I am happy for you. And happy for all of you that can now place your order. I have to wait until I return to the states to get on this wagon. Hopefully, by then there'll be no problems with ordering exactly what I want.

One question: I notice no one seems to have ordered (or be ordering) the Offroad Adventure II Package. Is that because many want to keep the 20-inch wheels? (I'm sure most of you want the skid plates.) I was thinking of ordering that package. Then, would only have to buy a set of four wheels and tires for heavy snow use. Easy enough to swap out all four at the end of each season, and could keep the original 18-inch spare as is. Any comments would be appreciated.

FWIW - I will definitely order the ORAG II package when I order my Overland. I'm a touch annoyed that it's an extra charge on the Summit where I'm forfeiting those expensive wheels. (Now that the Saddle/Black is off hold, perhaps I'll skip the Summit ... sure do like that Rugged Brown though.)

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

Guys, hold off on placing orders. It looks like the 730N RDRR will be available in 8 weeks. In the meantime, I can place my Overland order on Friday and get mine built first! Just kidding...

This is such great news. Of course, my sales guy just told me today that his inventory manager confirmed that they will not be offering the 730N RHR or RER going forward, only the 430N. It seems his level of enthusiasm has dropped a bit once he found out I am eligible for FFP- Friends and Family Pricing. Guess it is time to pick another dealership.

I wanted the 20 in wheels. I may addd skid plates later (they are expensive as a stand alone items!) My 2000 GC Limited had the off road package, but it didn't require a wheel change - then again - it didn't come with 20 in wheels either.

Right now, I just need to get it here!

Well for me I dont plan on doing any offroad plus its those sweet 20" wheels that really make the look of the new WK2. The 18's just dont do it for me. So yeah I specifically wanted the 20" wheels, and no rear DVD so I can get the pano sunroof!! Its a win win situation because the stuff I want is actually standard :-)

I wanted the 20" wheels and no rear DVD so I could get the pano sunroof, too. And although I will probably never venture offroad more than the mile-long driveway to my dad's farmhouse or perhaps driving on the beach on the Outer Banks of NC, psychologically I love to know that I COULD venture offroad if I wanted to even with the 20" wheels. I'm glad there is the offroad package for those of you who will actually seriously go offroad.

It should be at some point, but as of today it is not showing up in the order system for Canada.

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

James: thanks for keeping us updated on the ordering opportunities. May i ask, how much more are you paying to go from the 730N RHR from the 430N, and what is it about the 730N that you think is worth the upcharge?

I JUST ordered an Overland on Tuesday (I guess before the Saddle and the new radio came onto the system) and am deciding whether to change from the beige and to add the 730N RHR as you did!

Thanks
Ron

Ron,

Below are links to two documents on Jeep's website that show compatibility with Apple devices and Bluetooth functionality of the 430N versus 730NRER versus 730NRHR. These don't give a comprehensive comparison of the radios, but I found the information helpful because I have an iPhone 4 and the 730NRER.

Well there are actually a few things that made the decision to re-order my Jeep and go with Saddle and the new 730N.

The main factors regarding the radio is that even though im sure the garmin 430N based nav works good, I cant stand the cartoonish like looking maps they use. Just looks cheap and like one of those portable units. The 730N RHR like the older RER uses the much more detailed Harmon based navigation. If I wanted crummy looking mapping I would have bought a 250 dollar garmin portable. I do not want that in my built in factory unit. The other things were better Iphone4 compatibility which is what both me and my wife have. There are plenty of other additions but those were the main ones.

As for the interior, saddle is what I originally had my heart set on and when I first saw it in person at the dealership I remember saying to myself THIS is the interior I want hands down. Then after finding out it wasnt orderable the lighter beige interior grew on me more so I decided thats what I would go with. Then one week after I ordered my Overland 430N beige interior both the new radio and saddle were available. My sales manager cancelled my first order and re-submitted it to saddle and 730N RHR and I am now 100% happy and I think even more excited now then I was with my original order.

If you have any question about your original order and have even the slightest idea that you may want saddle or the RHR I would say go in and re-do the order.

As for the prices the saddle costs an extra $275 and the 730N RHR is $465. So Im paying an extra $740 bucks for my Overland. Not that big of a deal considering how much this Overland costs, and if you are financing that added amount is very insignificant. For me it was an easy decision.

James

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

Thanks to both of you for the responses. I'm about to bite on the new Verizon Iphone (I absolutely despise my BB Storm), so I may be with you James with a quick reorder. I haven't been able to see the Saddle in person, which has been an issue for me, so I'll head off to the Detroit Auto Show over the weekend to try to get a glimpse.

Ron
