Yes I recommend seeing it in person. For some reason it seems that Saddle does not picture very good. Every picture I have seen of it posted so far doesnt really do it justice. I remember when I first saw it in person inside a showroom as soon as I opened the door I remember saying holy cow this looks amazing. Something that the pictures just dont make me do. I think if you saw it in person it will really make your decision easy. Then again you never know the beige and all black both look amazing to. your call.

James - It will be interesting to see how our vehicles move through the system and if they get delivered at the same time. Both very similar and both ordered on the same day. Wonder how far off their VIN's will be?

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

I really want to like the saddle, and it is between the saddle/black or the black/black for me (ordering this week now that the RHR is available). The black/black just seems very dark to me with not enough breaking up of the interior. I have been to the dealership and seen a black/black but have not been able to find a saddle to see personally. All of the saddle pictures I have seen seem to make it look very orange and also clash a little with the wood trim. Is this just a problem with the way it photographs or is it that orange in person?

A dealership I visited, did not have any saddle interiors, but did have a "saddle swatch" which was a cut out of what was supposed to be the saddle interior. This looked good, and definitely did not look that orange; but I find it hard to believe that the sample (which I like) can be that different than the pictures I have seen. Are the pictures that off? Is saddle as orange as the photos make it seem? Does it clash with the wood?

Also - I read somewhere that the RHR was supposed to have improved graphics compared to the RER. I wonder what this mean, as the RER and the RHR both have the same resolution according to wk2jeeps.com. I currently have the RER in my 2008 and am happy with it but would love to see a slightly nicer interface; I'm not sure this will happen. Based on this URL (which may mean nothing), the interface seems to look the same:

https://www.chrysler.com/hostb/cross...port_Rev_B.pdf

I appreciate any comments. Thanks!

You're lucky to have even seen that saddle swatch. I heard that they were recalling all the swatches to use in production due to the shortages.

I second the issue with photos of the saddle. I saw in person and took pictures. Using a flash makes it look washed out. Very bright sun makes pictures look orange. I got some good ones just after the sun went over the horizon and they are pretty accurate.
The good news is that in person to the naked eye it looks fantastic!

Yes that will be very interesting and im curious as well. When you get your VIN be sure to let Milous know so he can post us up on the status page. I will also be sure to private message you the first chance I find out of a VIN number for my Jeep. Keep in touch!!

Basically as we mentioned it really is the pictures. Its hard to explain but I do agree with you in pictures they look orangish and the wood and leather kinda clash. However in person the interior is just jaw dropping!! I do highly recommend finding a dealer and see the saddle for yourself in person. I always check the inventory for dealerships near by you should do the same and go check one out as soon as they get it.

I was in the same boat, looking for a Mineral / Saddle combo but I had the opposite experience once I saw it in person a few time. While I agree it looks great, after looking at 2 or 3 (lucky enough to have a few dealers with saddle in stock) the newness started to wear off. Then I saw a Mineral Gray with Black interior and the subtle contrast of the black against the gray exterior and the wood inlays just did it for me. It reminded me of the color combo I had on my Cayenne right down to the wood inlays on the steering wheel and I was sold. Without the interior wood inlays it would be too bland but those set it off and give it a "rich" look and feel.

I started the whole exercise thinking charcoal / Saddle then moved to Mineral Gray / Saddle and arrived on Mineral Gray / Black after seeing them all in person.

I guess it just goes to the point that you REALLY need to see these things in person with the interior / exterior combo you're looking at to make the final decision.

I guess not a big deal since I was only a week into it anyway. I originally ordered a dark charcoal pearl with the light beige interior but originally wanted Saddle and as soon as I found out about the new RHR radio I wanted that to.

So with all that said I just placed another order (previous order cancelled) and now have on order the following with my new VON # and all:

2011 Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4
-Hemi V8
-Dark Charcoal Pearl
-New Saddle/Black interior
-Adaptive cruise/Advanced Warning
-730N RHR radio

Im super excited now to know I was able to get 100% what I wanted. The sales manager at my dealer has been extremely helpful and he also said that he was able to input my email addy into my order and he said he hasnt tried it yet, but looks like I will get status updates directly from them when available.

Thanks,
James

After hearing it here on these forums and from Jeep's 800 order status number, I called my dealer to advise him about changing my existing order made last month on a WK2 Overland to include the 730n RHR that should now be available to enter as an option within the dealer's databases. And I mentioned I wouldn't mind creating a new order if need be, just as long as it includes the 730n RHR. But the sales manager informed me the 730n RHR option is STILL not available as an option in their system. He said he even spoke to his rep over at Jeep about this and doesn't know why this information about the RHR has gone public because as far as they can see, it can not be ordered.

So I don't know what the F is going on anymore. Maybe it's just a Northeast problem? Has anybody else had success with their dealer adding the 730N RHR radio to a new order? Or am I simply being dicked over and forced-fed BS by the dealer?

It's possible it went live on the 12th and response was so high they reached there programmed order limit and it was disabled for new orders yesterday. Or there's some regional limitations, who really knows??????

I just talked to the Jeep Information Center this morning and they told me that the ability for the Jeep dealership to order the 730n RHR was pushed just last night, so maybe that's why my dealer couldn't see the option. I will have to get in touch with him again today and hopefully he can do something.

Thats weird. Milous was the one who said it would be up and ready on the 12th and my dealer and a couple others on here also confirmed that. My dealership was infact able to order the 730N as well as Saddle on wednesday evening.
