The main factors regarding the radio is that even though im sure the garmin 430N based nav works good, I cant stand the cartoonish like looking maps they use. Just looks cheap and like one of those portable units. The 730N RHR like the older RER uses the much more detailed Harmon based navigation. If I wanted crummy looking mapping I would have bought a 250 dollar garmin portable. I do not want that in my built in factory unit. The other things were better Iphone4 compatibility which is what both me and my wife have. There are plenty of other additions but those were the main ones.

As for the interior, saddle is what I originally had my heart set on and when I first saw it in person at the dealership I remember saying to myself THIS is the interior I want hands down. Then after finding out it wasnt orderable the lighter beige interior grew on me more so I decided thats what I would go with. Then one week after I ordered my Overland 430N beige interior both the new radio and saddle were available. My sales manager cancelled my first order and re-submitted it to saddle and 730N RHR and I am now 100% happy and I think even more excited now then I was with my original order.

If you have any question about your original order and have even the slightest idea that you may want saddle or the RHR I would say go in and re-do the order.

As for the prices the saddle costs an extra $275 and the 730N RHR is $465. So Im paying an extra $740 bucks for my Overland. Not that big of a deal considering how much this Overland costs, and if you are financing that added amount is very insignificant. For me it was an easy decision.

James
JTS, so what is the price you are paying before taxes/tags? I would like to see what the true markup average is between a standard and Summit Overland. To give you a comparison, I am paying $42k before tax/tags for 4x4 Hemi, 430N, ACC, Saddle and Chrome Package for a standard Overland. If you are paying more than $42,740 then I would hesitate to say you are getting a good deal just for some extra Saddle, 730N and Chrome Mesh Grill.

Also, the new 8.4" Nav system/media center that Chrysler is rolling out to all vehicles later this year will have Garmin technology. Can't say if Harmon will continue to be the latest and greatest based on this info. That said, I think I prefer the 430 over the 730 because of the software support beyond 2011 model year, etc. My 2 cents.

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

Finally. My dealer just contacted me. He is now capable of choosing the 730n RHR option on my WK2 Overland. Unfortunately, he can't make the adjustment to my existing order that was inputted into the system last month. So he had to create a new order in the system. The cost of the optional RHR (430n is standard) is $465. The new order will also push my delivery back a few weeks. For the latest and greatest radio, I don't mind the wait.

I originally ordered my 4x4 Overland V8 adaptive cruise 430N and the final price BEFORE taxes, title, license, and doc fees was $41,225. I have since re-ordered with the new 730N and saddle which then bumped it up $740 bucks to $41,965 +ttl. Who knows maybe I can split the difference with them when it gets delivered but for now I assume the price to have gone up $740 bucks. I did not order a Summit im not sure if you mistook me for someone else or what but just a standard Overland for me. I couldnt do that interior. Way too much saddle for me ;-)

Yes, sorry, I thought for some reason you were referring to the Summit. $465 + $275 = $740 different from last. Sounds like you're still getting a decent deal. If you deducted the chrome package from my order I would be at $41k, $965 lower than you, but you have added $465 for 730. As far as the remainder $275, sign up for a tread lightly discount. 1% below invoice at most dealerships guaranteed.

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

Some good news for those that have recently ordered and those that were curious about the recently added Saddle and 730N.

My sales manager just called me and told me my order for my Overland placed only 2 days ago with saddle and new 730N was accepted into the Chrysler system and is now in C status. He told he was very surprised that it got picked up that quick. Its not in D status so I obviously dont have a VIN yet but either way this is good news and now 100% confirmation that these new saddle and 730n orders will go through without a problem. He told me he will call me the same day it goes into D status and I will post back when I find that out to.
Just keeping everyone up to date and hopefully this is a sign that things are picking up on the Grand Cherokee line.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but when it comes to the new saddle, can you order it in black and get a completely black interior for an Overland? Thanks!

Saddle is the name of one of the three interior color options on the 2011 Overland. Black/New Saddle, Dk Frost/Light Beige, and Black. So yes you can order a new Overland with all black interior. Hope this helps.

My dealer just informed me that you still can't place an order for an Overland with Saddle, still in restriction...

Anyone else get a confirmed order for Saddle on an Overland since they put the restriction on?

My guy said the same thing. The 720 RHR IS showing up though. Ugh!

He is waiting to hear from their rep.

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

^^^ Hummmm well if it went back on restriction only after like 2 days thats crazy. All I know is at my dealership both saddle and 730N were available to be ordered on the evening of the 12th. I placed the order and it was accepted into the Chrysler system. My Overland went into C status today. Would love to hear what Milous has to say.

Re: Its official Saddle interior and new 730N RHR now available!!!

I am pissed. I called my sales rep today to get confirmation that we were ok to order. He still resisted in believing me that his inventory manager could be wrong about the 430N being the only MC available for the Overland, but I told them I was aware of many people who did this. He asked me who and I gave him the address of this website. Admittedly, since I do not know any of you personally, I felt stupid. So I hung up and called Jeep 877.I.AM.JEEP and asked about the 730N RHR and sure enough it is available. I asked the rep to wait and I conferenced in the sales guy. He still thought I was full of it and kept asking the guy for his name and number. I told him to reconfigure and send me the order sheet. An hour later I get a call- we can get you the 730N but the saddle leather is backordered because of the summit demand for 8-12 weeks. The system won't let them choose saddle leather. I then called another dealer who looked into it, was way more competent, but confirmed it. If my guy had looked into it when I requested instead of blowing it off, I'd have been able to order it the same day all my lucky brethren here had. So my question, and I ask you since I can't trust the dealerships, if I order it tomorrow, and it is backordered for 8-12 weeks, does that mean I will get the vehicle in 8-12 weeks or that is when they will start making the vehicle? What is a realistic delivery date? The funny thing is my BMW I am trading in runs out of CPO warranty 3/31. Tranny blew today on way home from work. For a loaner, I made the guy give me the 2011 GC Laredo they had! Sweet ride. But it's kind of like dating the really hot chick's cute sister compared to the overland.

When there is a feature availability or price change, Jeep will typically issue a revised dealer order guide. When the RHR was opened on the 12th for ordering, a revised guide was issued the same day. The revised guide also re-listed the Saddle interior for non-Summit models, which usually means that it would have been also opened for ordering. But, when you log in to place a vehicle order, which I tried, the option for Saddle is grayed out and thus cannot be ordered. Usually there is a footnote or comment if an item is on restriction, but nothing is mentioned anywhere.

As far as an "8-12 week" delay goes, I believe this is earlier information that goes back to when Saddle was first place on restriction, not that it is going to be another 8-12 weeks from now. I'll keep checking and post if I hear of any new information.
