and you have hit on exactly why JD Powers and Consumer Reports are not worth the paper they are printed on. Nobody talks about a vehicle they are not having problems with but everybody complains loudly about the one they are personally having problems with.

Since they consider the number of problems per 100 sold, it is an even playing field. Owners of other brands are the same as Jeep owners in that they will, in general, complain about a problem and otherwise be silent.

I'm sure if Jeep was at or near the top of the list, many here would be praising these organizations.

I did the J D Power survey, so they do have SOME good reports.

I do have some standards, so wouldn't take a CR one.

Then why doesn't every carmaker have huge problem figures? Your logic doesn't work lol

Totally agree. The questions aren't biased against Jeep.

Wow - You are delusional. Consumer Reports and JD Power ask the same questions about EVERY vehicle. It's all a Commie plot.

I thought you said you were done with even considering a jeep? Should have known you'd be in one of these threads... Just sticking around for the pain?

No, he sticks around hoping against hope that someone will confirm for him his opinion that Jeeps are defective and unreliable vehicles. Funny thing is I have one of the new Jeep Cherokees with the supposedly defective 9 speed transmission. My vehicle was built 11/13 and was a custom order. It is almost 9 months old now and I have had no problems. In fact I have not had one of the TBSs for the transmission performed as it shifts so well I don't want to screw it up. It just kills some people that there are perfectly fine Jeeps out there being enjoyed by some.

Re: JD Power Initial Quality

I had 0 issues in the first 3 years of ownership of my 2011 Grand Cherokee. However I did have to pay the $100 deductible to replace an HID headlight. Actually the dealer just did them both.

As we were having the warranty discussion the service manager said the "time or mileage" policy has changed from "whatever comes first" to "whatever comes last"! This is nice although it doesn't really apply to my vehicle since I have lifetime coverage.

As of today on the Jeep website;t

"whichever occurs first"

I would be very surprised if the service manager was correct. You could have people with a 15 year old car coming in for "warranty" work on a 20 year old car under the basic warranty.
