Well when I bought the SRT it came with a scratch on the rear bumper. No problem. I paid to get it fixed out of my pocket at my shop. No way I was letting their shop take care of it.
Also the Jeep came with a chip in the windshield. And after 100 miles there was this God awful rattle.
I brought it back in for them to take care of the chip and after 2 days I go to randomly see if the jeep was looked at and it wasnt. Jeep was ice cold. Funny thing that they dont know is that on the 3rd floor is where they keep the cars. And in the building where their service department is where my father's company had their warehouse for over 20 years before moving it after the landlord threw us out after the lease was up lol. Anyways, I am cool with the freight elevator operator since hes known me since I was walking around in diapers with pops. So I had him take me to where my Jeep was.
I go back downstairs and they say well they are diagnosing it now. I said oh really? I was just up on the 3rd floor and my Jeep is still there. Guy had the jaw drop look on his face. I told him I want it fixed.
I give them 2 more days and then I call after going to the Yankees game and say I will pick it up tomorrow (Saturday) and they tell me its good to go (the rattle was a loose bolt) but the glass guy couldnt come in. I said whatever I want the truck for the weekend.
Saturday comes I get in the jeep, the chip turned into a crack and my Jeep had 120 miles on it since I left it. And as soon as I see the chip turned to a crack. And as soon as I step on it the rattle comes back. I am pissed but there is no one on the weekend to talk to.
So I said **** it let me take it to my buddy's dealer down in East Brunswick. I didnt go there to begin with bc I didnt want to bother him for a rattle I thought was no big deal. Big mistake that was.
We got it up on the lift and saw that the exhaust was resting on this support bracket.
And of course when you step on it, the engine from the torque is moving and causing the exhaust to bang up and down on the support bracket.
There was some kind of defect on the exhaust, so a new catback was ordered and to stop the annoying rattle in the mean time, the bracket was taken off.
So then after this, I went back to Manhattan Jeep and asked for Jeff Monninger to come outside and speak. And he said oh take it back to the service department and to which I replied, I wouldnt even take a shit there and he didnt like that. Then he says you do nothing but complain to which I said, I have the right to complain when I spend 71 grand on a ****ing truck there. Then he says to me watch my mouth and I said who the **** are you telling to watch their mouth and I got in his face. He then said get out of his face and I stepped back and cocked my hand to punch him then my father pulled me back. He then said we are done here and ran back into the dealer like the little PANSY that he is! You want to act like a thug, I'll treat you like one. All I am trying to do is explain what hacks they got at their service department and its plain to see that he knows its like that and DOESNT CARE because people for the most part wont travel anywhere else to take their car for service if they are in Manhattan.
So I now only go to my buddy Rich Steele (Mopar Tech) at RT 18 Jeep in East Brunswick and have him take care of anything. I have to travel 40 miles each way for good service instead of going to 54th street. lol
Funny thing is that literally 2 months after this, I open the cubby under the nav and reach all the way in the back bc I wanted to move my ezpass to the top shelf in there and what do I find?! A wallet with ID and 50 bucks in it.
I call up Manhattan Jeep and ask if I could speak to Angel. Lady asked who is calling? And there I found out I have the wallet of the guy who took my Jeep out.
Of course I kept the 50 bucks. Paid for the gas he wasted.
I will never go back there ever again. And this is after buying 6 Jeeps from there. Oh well.
