You seriously get flipped off by Prius drivers? Flipping people off for any reason is just asking for trouble. Can't imagine that goes over well with most drivers.

all i got to say, if i get flipped off by one of those smug drivers, well they better be ready. I will demonstrate how immature i can be... yes I mooned ( while driving before, perhaphs 10+ years ago, but I can be quite limber for a fat guy).
On a flip side i can be a doosh as well. when i get one of those smart4two or prius drivers that bought the car not for carbon print or milage but to demonstrate their superiority to entire world... well I am know to pull to the light glance over to the driver in the car next to me, and when i realize that he is shaking his head at me ( 9/10 of the time i drive a '06 GTO) i would simply flip the swith (open my cutouts) and make sure that for next 30-90 seconds my idle speed is at 3k+... I had an oldee lady giving me one finger salute, I had another driver actually roll down the window and give thumb up...I drive what i want and how i want ( to make me feel better I planted over 300 trees on my property).

as far as camaradery, in my expirience more expensive the car, less open the owner becomes, well there are some exception. Very rarely i would even get a wave from another BMW driver. Gto is way cheaper and it is more of a close community (rarity), heck if you go on GTO board there is a "seen you" section since most of us know about all the goats in the area in person, but perhaps the biggest club is motorcycles....but subaru club has their shocker wave so limitted numbers is questionable. in my YJ i get waves and thumb ups from everone, simply because usually i have it spraied with mud and "making a statment" by not washing it .
I will not initiate the wave in my GC but i would return one should i see one coming.

Re: Jeep Camaraderie

just too many GC (in nyc anyways)around to do the wave everytime you see one. I do honk and give a to a few modded GCs/SRTs , and they return the favor which is pretty cool

Re: Jeep Camaraderie

When I bought my first BMW (back in 1983) they were just on the cusp of growth. For the first year or so, it was still common for bimmer owners to flash their lights at each other, but as the pool of owners grew bigger than just enthusiasts ... well the whole light flash thing died. Of course 2002 owners still flash each other, but there's not too many 2002s left on the road - and of course I acknowledged the one other E28 M5 that I saw on the road in 23 years of ownership (It's a rare model ).

Re: Jeep Camaraderie

I attracted a new Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl Chrysler 300 as a pace car on the interstate a few weeks ago. I had just shined up the Overland so it was looking sweet. I let him admire for awhile before glancing over and we exchanged mutual thumbs up and nods of appreciation.

We have so few WK2's on the roads around my house that I will always acknowledge them in some way, but they rarely reciprocate. People around here are so spoiled by nice rides that they probably don't appreciate what they've got. About the only vehicles that seem to get a second look are old classics. I took a photo of this old gem in the grocery store parking lot about a month ago. I later learned that a friend of mine had bought it for his son for $15K. I am envious.

Re: Jeep Camaraderie

LOL at this thread! Being flipped off by Prius drivers etc. I live in a city where the standard mode of transport is a 3/4 ton 4x4 long bed with extended cab and a 4 inch lift kit. People look at my Overland and want to know why I drive such a small car.

As far as camaraderie goes, I don't think the WK2 engenders the same feelings as the traditional crowd. I still get the occasional wave, though. Just not from the lifted pickup guys.
