Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

The more and more I hear about the 2014 Grand Cherokee makes me very disappointed. Delays and more delays, tons of problems, questionable design and option changes, increased price.....I'm beginning to lose interest.

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

I'm disappointed with the lack of features and options with the Altitude. I think it looks great. Which is really what the Altitude is, an appearance package. Kind of disappointed.

I know they are targeting a certain price point to retain more buyers for it, but let the people who want the LED DRL's and parksense at least have the option for it.

LOL oh well.. out of our hands

added: On the Chrysler website they have the "light group" of course all 300's already come with LED lights. They could off the headlights a la carte... with the Grand Cherokee for a 2000 premium and people would pay it.

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

I agree with most of the comments I've read on here, and I truly wish Chrylser would read these boards and listen...

The monochromatic body & blacked out trim looks absolutely great, nice work on that. Xenon headlights, V8, parking sensors, rear cameras? No, no, no & no. If you guys haven't figured out by now, this is a Laredo that they can sell for a sh*t-ton more money. Do black plastic headlight housings really cost any more than the chrome ones? No. But they'll charge an upcharge of $5100 for this "package?" Brilliant.

And I agree with scooter, at minimum make them options. You want to market it a price point, great. But at least make the desirable options available... oh wait, then it would be a limited. Only cooler looking than a limited. ha..

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

I see that the Backup Camera was part of the 2013 Altitude Edition.

I'd estimate that the required wire harness and camera for this feature costs Chrysler less than $25 in parts, and the SW option to enable the feature on the 8.4" display is free.

If it is not included as part of the 2014 Altitude package, I'd love to hear a rational explanation from the responsible Product Manager at Chrysler/Jeep regarding why it was intentionally DELETED from the Altitude feature list !

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

I like the looks a lot and the painted lower trim, and the leather/suede seats and 8.4 Nav screen, but the lack of options as others have stated give me no reason to ever trade in my 2012 blacked out Overland. How could I justify losing air suspension, hemi engine, bi-xenon headlights, hard drive, back up camera and sensors, in dash cd player, flipper glass, nappa leather ventilated seats. I have no need to splurge for an SRT (like it's looks but don't need the power or cost) or to trade down for an Altitude, and I'm not going to black out an Overland again, and I dislike the bronzish/copperish hue they put in the interior instead of silver, so I'll just keep what I got and Jeep won't get another sale. Maybe if they offer something special in a year or so. What would really get me interested in is an exterior option color of gloss black.

p.s. Chrysler LLC, I'm still waiting for my royalties/pay-day for coming up with the concept idea for this vehicle on Jeep Garage forum ( Should Jeep make a "Black Edition" Grand Cherokee Overland ) a couple of years ago which you stole (and then only offered in a Laredo instead of an Overland)!

I was waiting for the altitudes to come out to buy a new GC and thoroughly disappointed. I would have paid overland price for a altitude with the Lux 2 package and air sus.

Damn. Everything sounds ideal on this but add the LUX II package. Eff...
