Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

That Altitude Edition looks great and is pretty much what im sure all of us thought it would be. Same thing as Laredo but with some of the black parts from the SRT8. The lack of options is actually very disappointing and would be a deal killer. How can this thing have the 8.4 nav system but no backup camera?!?!? weird.

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

Another 2 things....

WHY EVEN MAKE THE NON-FUNCTIONING SRT-STYLE ROOF RAILS!?! Why waste the money to even put them on... make them FUNCTIONAL!

Also - can you not get the QTII setup with the new Altitudes? QT1 only?

Makes it easier for me to keep my 2012 Altitude with QTII and flipper glass... not that I was going to buy a new one anyone.

I love the look of the 14 Altitude. I even thought about trading in my 12 Altitude on one, but decided not to after reading no options for step up to QT2, or the upgraded HID LED DRL lamps. Those were the main reasons I would upgrade and since they left it out I don't see a reason too. I love the fact they body color matched the plastic, along with black in the taillights, headlights and grill. But without the above features, I'm sticking with my 12 Altitude

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

too funny... everyone here has said the same thing, no xenons, no back up camera, dealbreakers. But I repeat what I said earlier, IF they added those certain items, even as options, then this would be a limited, only better looking than a limited, and less money than a limited. I don't believe Chrysler listens to people like us on these boards, and even if they did, they're not worried about what a handful of GC enthusiasts want. They want to sell high-profit SUV's to as many people as possible. And even funnier back up cameras will be mandatory on all cars, at some point, although that deadline has now been pushed back to at least 2015. Apparently not worried about saving lives just yet.

Re: Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee & Wrangler Altitude editions revealed

Looks like Chrysler has gone back and "edited" the press release for the Grand Cherokee Altitude edition. The sunroof is now included as part of the package, but the MSRP of $35,290 no longer includes the $995 destination fee.

Also, the reference to "ParkSense" and "ParkView" being included as part of the package have been removed from the revised version of the press release.

Milous -- please confirm that the Sunroof is indeed included now in the $35,290 MSRP as the updated press release indicates.

Thanks,

--AGLAT

Revised Press release description:

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude is based on the Laredo model and is available as a 4x2 or 4x4. The standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine produces 290 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, and is mated to an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering up to 25 miles per gallon highway.

Special exterior design cues include gloss black bezel inserts for the front grille, fog lamp bezels, lower front fascia applique, badging, rear step pad surround and 20-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels. Other unique exterior changes include halogen headlamps with black bezels, grey satin gloss tail lamp bezels, platinum chrome grille texture, bright dual exhaust tips, lower body-color fascias, wheel flares and side cladding, a body color antenna and an SRT-style roof rail.

The interior features black Capri leather seats with perforated suede inserts and black stitching, a leather wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, standard 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen and power sunroof. The Security and Convenience Group is also standard and includes remote start, auto-dimming rear view mirror, security alarm, 115 volt outlet, universal garage door opener, cargo cover, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and power liftgate.

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude is available in Billet Silver, Bright White, Brilliant Black Metallic Coat, Deep Cherry, Granite Crystal and Maximum Steel.

The U.S. MSRP for the 2014 Grand Cherokee is $35,290 for 4x2 models and $37,290 for 4x4 (plus $995 destination).

Jackpot.

You got it.

I know we have a lot of people on here, but we are still a drop in the bucket compared to the market as a whole.

Anything otherwise is just a coincidence.

Amazing that CEO Mark Manley describes the new Altitude as edgy and aggressive, but they don't even offer a V8 or Quadra Trac II.

Is there a real life picture of a brilliant black 2014 Altitude 2?
