I had to double check my calendar. Nope... it isn't April 1st.

That is not something I'd even slightly consider buying (or being seen driving in) at all!

Now... if this was 1970...

I quite like it, though if trimmed like that the dash would need some vinyl wrap and seat covers would be essential.

This part looks harder to fix.

The roof line looks real low, because it is!

Cheers,
Steve

Certain aspects are appealing, the unpadded rollbar's location not so much

It's a JK with a fancy top. And it came out like 8 months ago. Why is this news?

Re: Jeep Chief Concept...Car & Driver w/ pics

Thinking about it, aside from the "Carmen Miranda" interior, the only thing that truly bothers me is going with the retro rear brake/reverse lights. I've always hated that style of fixture.

I'd rather they add a modern touch to it by going with a set of double rounds to put a modern feel on the retro design.

It's one thing to have something distinctive like on a Mustang or a Corvette where the rear lights are a fixture that should be included - it's another to have lights that were pretty common on trucks from that era and include them just because they look "old-timey".

There's a fine line between a vehicle inspired by the past and one that simply tries to copy it.
