All 2014-2015 GC's have LED tail lights, but the brake/turn indicators are still incandescent lamps... FCA cheaped out and only the running lights are LED.

Yeah, its because the current GC platform is getting to be outdated while the Cherokee is a 'newer' model. I really like the electric park brake and the adjustable rear seat on the Cherokee. I would suspect that we'll see some of those items on the refresh for 2016.

Besides the front end of the vehicle it drives extremely well.

My questions are why does this vehicle have a 9 speed tranny, heated wind shield for the wipers and two usb ports for the Uconnect.

MY 2014 overland does not have any of those options. I find it strange that a vehicle which is cheaper to buy has some additional features which there flagship SUV does not.

9 speed tranny - if you are having fun, does it matter the wrapper? In all seriousness, the 9 speed seems to have had early trouble with cars never hitting 9th speed. The 9 speed tranny is for engineered for front wheel drive cars with an optional 4WD/AWD. The 8 speed tranny is engineered for a RWD with an optional 4WD/AWD layout. Don't automatically assume an extra gear would work magic.

Heated windshield wipers. I have had them on my Subarus since 2005 and 2009 respectively. They are nice, somewhat work, but are not a game changer. They will delay ice build-up during a snow storm but will not melt the already formed ice around the rubber. The greatest improvement in winter weather wipers will come from the blade design, replacing the articulated frame design that can freeze.

Two usb ports for the Uconnect. That is one too many. Makes no difference as long as you can only get music from one source at a time and it takes 64 Gb or more. My guess is that one of those is a 5V phone charger only and one is a Uconnect adapter. DO they get an SD card reader also? We have 3 USBs on our Grand Cherokees but only 1 is UConnected.

Yeah, heated wipers, front and rear, would be a nice addition to the GC.
Right from the ZJ to the WK2, for a vehicle with the foul weather traction capabilities of the GC, the ability to keep the front windows and wipers clear of that foul weather sucks.
