Speaking first hand here...own/owned first year production models of both at hand. Keep in mind the REAL Range- not the Explorer based Sport or LR4 (look it up if you want) was penned by BMW and for the first three production years, powered by BMW as well. As a result, it was an incredible driving package. Ample power, control and a driving position/visibility second to none. Off road/poor weather performance was amazing as well. And then open the door and check out the interior....where do(did) I sign?
Ironically, I traded it in the exact day the factory warranty expired on the MB listed below, because without the warranty....forget it! I had a to fire my dealer in town, resulting in a 50 mile round trip every time something broke. (I sure showed them!).
Back to the topic at hand..the Summit is very nice. The hemi has reasonable power and is pretty smooth for a pushrod.
The interior fit and finish is very good and really believe it is an incredible value for the $43 and change transaction price.
I have honestly gotten to the point that if a dealer service department does not know me by name, I truly believe we a both better off.
