Gas prices continue to go up, I remember when gas was 70 cents a litre, people had trucks, gas is now 111 cents a litre, people still buy trucks.

People who truly want to own a truck, don't give two craps about gas mileage

Re: Jeep to revive Grand Wagoneer

I find it odd that it's going to take 2 years to re-badge the durango as a Grand Wagoneer

Re: Jeep to revive Grand Wagoneer

^^ Same platform, dood..

I don't expect a brand new chassis for one single vehicle such as this.. much of what you see now will be part of the Grand Wagoneer in a few years.. + an eight speed transmission of course

That's true...the only problem is that the "people who truly want to own a truck" are in the minority. History has proven that when gas prices rise, SUV sales decline. This is especially true when it comes to "real" SUVs and not crossover/cute 'utes.

I still love the idea of a new Wagoneer, but I have to question the choice to build and even bigger Jeep model with gas prices rising and predicted to hit all-time highs. Still though, I'd love to see a new Wagoneer, even if it it little more than a redesigned Commander.

And isn't the new Durango also based on the Grand Cherokee's platform? This Wagoneer will probably just be a Jeep re-badging of the Durango.

I think you a right on that. Plus they definitely share some exterior and interior parts

Indeed. If I gave a crap about gas prices I wouldn't be rolling in a Hemi.

I LOVE the Wagoneer. If they can do the old one justice you can sign me up for a new one. I've often thought of picking up a late model Wagoneer just for fun but then I'd have to hear the wife belly-aching and telling me to grow up.

Re: Jeep to revive Grand Wagoneer

It will most certainly look like a larger version of the GC IMO. Just lok at the new compass.
