Jeep underfloor available storage space

After a few hours of trying to improve the storage availability under the floor using the existing space, I came up with the following layout.

I removed the waist of space tool holder in the middle of the spare tire.
Had the wife make a leather tool roll for the tools and a leather cover for the jack.
I remove he RH storage bin and place it the cupboard in the spare room with the tool holder.
I sat the thumper compressor & hoses along with part of the recover kit in the spare tire space. Remainder of recovery gear fitted around the front of the tyre, including a collapsible shovel.
Placed the tool roll and jack in the location of the RH storage bin..
With the exception of carrying around a little more weight, I don't have all these items in the main cargo area anymore..
Still room to spare under the floor for other items when camping...

Re: Jeep underfloor available storage space

Very nice, we think alike!

I was thinking about getting rid of that foam block too and seeing if i can get a small trolley jack in there or maybe a large bottle jack. The stock jack and tools are crap. I already have a 25" breaker bar and impact socket (for lug nuts) in the back along with jumper cables, mini air pump, electrical tape, gloves and hand tools for basic repairs on the fly if need be.

Good must haves but don't forget a d ring hitch. It can come in handy.

100% correct..
I just kept the install simple and added two strips of hook Velcro.
Seems to work fine and it is out of the way and easy to get to..

Re: Jeep underfloor available storage space

That was one of the first things I did. Ditched the form and stored the compressor. Put the jack under the rear seat along with tools.

Re: Jeep underfloor available storage space

I keep one under rear seat. There is a huge amount of space there. Wish it was more accessible.
