IndyBob has a spectacular aura about
Jeeping in Moab

When I used to take my Wrangler out to Moab several years ago we always stayed at the Fandango Condos. Does anyone know if the place is still there? I have tried calling the phone number I found doing a Google search but it comes back disconnected.

Thanks

i do not know if it's still there... but, are you planning on going out to Moab? I will be in Moab for a few days in a couple of weeks. Have never explored Moab so I was wondering what trails I can tackle with a "stock" WK2.

When you get there stop by any of the Jeep rental places and you can pickup a map of trails in the area. They will be trail rated on a scale of 1-5 or 1-10 with the 1-3 being easier and less risky.

This time of year I suspect it may still be cold with snow chances and some trails blocked by snow.

Re: Jeeping in Moab

Moab is the best. Strongly recommend touring or camping at Arches National Park.

Don't forget photos for your fellow JG members, please.

Edit: Links below to some basic OR trail menus at Moab with ratings. I'm more of a mountain biker there, but like IndyBob rely heavily on similar local guidance for trail recommendations and logistics.

Re: Jeeping in Moab

I'll be there at the end of May. We're taking my mother-in-law on a once-in-a-lifetime trip. She refuses to fly so my wife is taking her out to Salt lake City on Amtrak ( a 2+1/2 day ride) and my sister and I are flying out to meet them the day they arrive. We're doing The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore and practically every national park and monument in between, including Arches and Canyonlands in the Moab area. Unfortunately we'll be doing it in a rented SUV, most likely a Suburban, so no Jeeping fun for me, but then again, I can report back on how good (or bad) the Suburban does compared to my Overland.
