Just had her tinted with 3m! $40 on jerome Ave in the Bronx. It happens to be the same place that a lot of pro athletes take their rides, so i feel good about it. Plus a year warranty top boot.

Chunderboy, your ride looks sick, but I prefer the white letters on the inside, not showing.

You and me both. Problem is, is that I bought them (basically new) from a guy who already did the plasti dip on them, plus, it would cost a few hundred to break down the tire, flip them around, then re mount and balance them. Now, if I got them new, no question it would be black side out.

Gotta find a way to black out the letters.

P. S. The deal was too good to turn down. $600 for 5 new wheels and tires (actually 500 miles on them).

A few hundred? Huh! My tire guy would charge $15 which what he charges to mount and balance a tire. So $60

If I remember correctly, that price included an alignment too. If that's the case, then remove that, and it should be in line with your price. I do hate the white letters.

nice truck dude..i am looking into doing this now to my black beauty.

just a question, if i wanted to do the front badge, what would you recommend, did you have any issues with the grill itself?

can you use any tape on the body paint? or do i need to have painters tape?

cheers

Leave the wheels as is, white letters and all!

I'm all about basic black, but they actually look good :-)

The grill pops out. There is a write up of how to do that on the forum (if I find it, I will post it here)

As for the badge, it's super easy. Just tape a box around the logo leaving about two inches between the logo and the tape (basically leaving 2 or so inches of paint between the tape and logo) and spray around 4 coats of dip.. Once dry, remove the tape and the overspray of the dip will come off as well. Since the hood is recessed under the logo, it will pull off and leave a perfect covering. Also, to remove the dip from between the letters and in the spaces in the letters, use a toothpick. It's not sharp so it won't damage the paint.

Don't do it if it is windy and I only use blue painters tape. Pulls off easy with no residue. And, of course, if there is over spray just rub it with your finger and it will come off.

Im in the same boat, just too lazy and cheap to get the white letters placed on the inside. Whenever I get a new set of tires, the white will be on the inside. Also, a Sharpy doesn't last on the white letters.
