We just picked up a new 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo... This thing looks and rides nice. Its surprisingly fast as well.
It was the Wifes turn to pick a new vehicle... she liked the GC so we went to take a look at them... I had her wanting an SRT8 version but they did not have any on the lot so we started looking at the Laredo on the Show room floor... It has all the bells and whistles one could possibly want or even need.
Sunroof, back up cam, Sirius radio, leather seats... the list goes on. I'm very impressed with the way it drives and how much power it has. Its literally a sleeper... One would not think an SUV could pull as hard as this thing does.
Anyway, just thought I would share the good news with you guys...
Its the 5.7L... The wife told me I could chose 1 option... but I was not allowed to chose the engine... She wanted the v6... So I chose the tow package, which automatically bumped it up to the 5.7L... I win!
Anyone know what the rear axle the 2011 WK come with? There is nothing about the axle on the build sheet and I cant find anything on them on the internet.
I would like to get some 4.56's installed if possible. I know its just a 2wd version but from past experience with the .76/.67 overdrives and tall tires, 4.56's tend to improve fuel economey and performance at the same time... Its just simple math.
Thank's Scottina, but I need to know the actual differential so I can purchase new gears for it... I know the Rams, Dakotas & Durango's come with the 9.25 rear diff...
If I remember correctly it comes with 3.92's with the tow package.

Can sombody that has a 2011 verify that there is a storage bin under the drivers seat. I had the dealer check one on his lot and it did have some kind of pan or something in the same location that the battery is on on the passenger side, but it was covered with carpet and the dealer could not seem to find any way to get the thing open. I was just wondering if it really is a storage bin, or something else, and if it is for storage, how does it open?
I have a cover under the seat on my limited and I was pulling on it from all kinds of different directions and it would not open. There is carpet on it. I gave up because I didnt want to break something on a 3 day old car. I am curious to know if anyone else was able to get it open and whats in there as well.
