Re: Just drove a 2017 Pacifica. Impressed!

My friend is an anti-minivan guy. He needed more room than his highlander was offering. I told him to look at the Pacifica. He could have easily loaded it with every option and still would have been in his price range. He wouldn't even consider it. He ended up with a suburban and a $825 lease payment! It's crazy what people will pay for the Tahoe and Yukon. His isn't even the top model suburban. He said the top level one was almost $1,000 a month to lease. What the hell does a Denali or Escalade go for. I think I'd rather have a Mercedes GL or Range Rover

Thumbs down to minivans as well.

I think minivans suck out your testoterone!!

I have a little one and the GC is roomy enough!

I've been shopping them. They max out at about $75k. Not really yuck if you have to tow anything or do anything more than grocery shop, shop at Ross and have never had a gym membership. But I didn't say that probably doesn't help I just saw a huge broad get out of caravan about 10 minutes ago.

I think they suck out every last drop of damn you give in life when you buy one.

One more thing. Does anyone else think it's kind of strange or a lot strange that FCA is disappointed in the sales of the 200 (that's in need of a refresh) so they build a van that looks EXACTLY like it??

I thought they were heading toward a brand image thing? Compare the 200 to the JGC summit front bumper. They both have the chrome swoosh across the lower section, and now that same feature is translated into the Pacifica.

I get bored driving my WK2 back and forth to work, I couldn't imagine doing the same commute in a minivan. It was great to rent one to haul 3 people, 3 bikes, and all our gear up to NYC for a weekend, but never for daily driving.

Then again, I won't be having any kids, so I don't have a reason for one.

A Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Escalade sucks everything out of you and your bank account...and you still get a column shifter and a solid axle sorry I'm just having fun with it now.

I have a 14 limited Eco and a 15 ram Eco, both with air suspension, works great, ride and handling is great for the type of vehicle(s)... Nice to have the ability to raise for ground clearance when needed, but normal height everyday..

YMMV

Good looking van... For the haters, get over it.. We all drive what floats are boats and serves our needs...

Have a GC now, have had mini vans.. Best vehicle for me would be the space of a very with the off road chops of the the GC.. To make it perfect, add a HellCat motor and we'd have a deal!

YMMV

Re: Just drove a 2017 Pacifica. Impressed!

If I still had kids at home, I would seriously consider the Pacifica. When the kids and grandkids visit once or twice a year, I rent a Town & Country for the seating and cargo space. I once got stuck with a Tahoe and had a heck of a time trying to park and open the doors in tight spaces. Sure, great on the open road, but miserable around town. The minivan is today's version of my family's Country Squire, but with more space, better mileage, easier parking, less garage space, ....... I almost wish I needed one, but I'm happy with my Hi Altitude for mostly just me and with the lowering links so my wife doesn't gripe about it being too high to climb into

Speaking of Country Squires... this is what we had when I was a kid. Took my drivers license test is this tank. Dad was pissed when I installed an 8-track tape player in it without asking him but he came to like it, if not my choice in music.
