Just drove a 2017 Pacifica. Impressed!

I know this isn't directly related to the Grand Cherokee, but since it's a Chrysler it does have many similar traits. This vehicle would not be for me, but the wife as she has a 2015 Odyssey Touring. We take the van everywhere and my HA pretty much sits and does nothing more than move me back and forth from work. So anytime we go somewhere as a family it's always in her van. So it would be sort of a win win for me too.
Onto the Pacifica.....very very nice interior!! I really hope Jeep adopts some of these things for the Grand Cherokee. The one I drove had everything, including the Mocha Brown interior. I could be wrong, but I think this color is different from the "saddle" colored interior in the Jeeps. I hope they offer this mocha color in the Jeeps some day, it was downright gorgeous!! I like the Jeep saddle, but it's too orangy IMO. I love the flat high gloss Uconnect screen, something that I hope moves into the Jeep. Awesome LED interior lighting, love the forward and overhead camera views. Stereo system sounded excellent! Overall for a minivan it drove very nice and the interior looked and felt like a place you would want to be and enjoy. Not very typical of a minivan that's for sure. The best way to describe this Pacifica Limited was like you were in a Summit edition minivan!

Ah, but the shifter... ROFLOL!! (Yes, it's a very nice van that keeps FCA in the market they started, albeit a shrunken market at this point)

Still hate minivans, but that is by far the best looking one on the road inside & out

I actually liked it. Takes up little to no room, extremely easy to use, looks modern. No complaints with me.

Yeah the whole minivan thing is tough for some people to swallow, but that's most likely because they never owned one. Mid sized SUVs sorta suck actually for kids we tried that and got the Odyssey and love it. Once you go minivan there is no looking back...seriously!

Re: Just drove a 2017 Pacifica. Impressed!

I'm sure vans are handy, I'd never touch one though. This looks really nice. Slightly cartoonish and a little too much like a stretched up 200. Still pretty nice.

My GC is our 'van'. It has full soccer duty for my 4 and 2.5 yr old. And it does a great job. But that's just how it is, I know families with 3 kids that have a sedan and see no problem or need for an SUV. Then I know families with 1 kid and they think they need a suburban.

I would never drive a minivan. I would drive a Mini before I drove a minivan. Interior is nice.

Re: Just drove a 2017 Pacifica. Impressed!

I don't get it...it's a vehicle, not a drug or something. To the people that say "I will never drive a minivan". Explain why? Sure if you don't have young kids it makes perfect sense, but besides that, for family use it does everything better. Easy to drive, better on fuel, loads of room, extremely versatile, very comfortable, practically the same dimensions, but with a ton more room...the list goes on. My Grand Cherokee literally has no more passenger space than our old Honda Accord. Sometimes I actually try to figure out what exactly is the point of a 2 row SUV. I know I'm getting a bit defensive here, but the amount of people who claim they will never drive a minivan is kind of comical, yet they are probably among one the most common vehicles on the road

Well, I'm single and will never have kids on purpose. I just like driving things that are more unique. There is just no style in a minivan IMO. I get it if you have kids because practicality outweighs most other fun things. I settled on a GC only because all other SUV's make me want to puke so if I can't drive a Rubicon then I want something that still looks good. After driving this GC for two months, I have a hard time thinking I will go back to a Rubicon unless they came out with a Hemi option and changed some other things. I chose a HA because all the other GC's look like most other SUV's IMO and because the GC itself really has no pizazz either. To me the black accents set it off. And because I hate chrome mirrors. I don't know if I will always have a GC since I'm itching for a Raptor or a Bronco if they ever make the latter. I didn't mean to offend anyone that chooses or has to drive a minivan. There are thousands of vehicles I wouldn't want to drive.
