Re: Just got her home 2 questions

FYI...thankfully I have a wonderful dealer to work with and the Sales Manager is my POC there...he advised that my JGC was indeed delivered to their dealership...so I asked him to inspect our Summit for any "quirks" in how it was built, in case there were any issues that needed to be "fixed" prior to taking delivery in the next 30 days.

Sure enough he emailed me a lil bit ago...he confirmed that our Summit ALSO has the incorrect steering wheel (Overland spec VS Summit spec)...so they will have to order the correct one and swap them out on our's as well.

That means this issue is NOT a fluke!! Either the factory workers are once again "high & drunk", they are not paying attention, or they simply don't have the Summit steering wheels available for install at the factory during the build process.

In any case, it means there is a serious LACK of QC with this 1st batch of 2012's...you would expect this on a 1st year run of the model, but NOT during the 2nd model year!!!

Unbelievable!!! :-/

Re: Just got her home 2 questions

This wrong steering wheel thing is becoming an epidemic. Just amazes me.

Re: Just got her home 2 questions

Really hope they get your issues fixed BuckeyeSRT.

Sad to say but it really looks like Chrysler is slipping again. It might turn out that the 2012's will be more problematic than the 2011's. Quality control has gone out the window thats for sure. How can no one noticed a brown wood wheel on a summit that has all black wood? Also their are many with the saddle interior that are now getting the white/grey stitching instead of the brown/tan stitching. They have such a great thing going to to start slipping again.

I have even noticed on my late 2011 compared to the early 2011 the exterior chrome trim doesn't line up, the tailgate isn't level with the taillights, carpet was left untucked, and the front bumper is out of alignment.

Re: Just got her home 2 questions

Not trying to make excuses for Jefferson North Assembly, but the steering wheels are put on wrapped in a semi-white foam type material. I do know that the Black Wood steering wheels were on back order (maybe they still are).

Based on my short driving experience with this Jeep I would respectfully disagree. So far, I have had none of these issues, nor any other. The steering wheel issue may be a problem now but I think that, in general, Chrysler has made a great effort to address all of the problems with the redesigned GC. The steering wheels will ultimately be replaced IMHO.
