I disagree,Anyone who takes the time to join a Jeep or any other forum will likely post the Good with the bad.

In answer to your question, No not all updates have corrected issues. Thats why I said check the build dates. Latter is better. Early 2014 Jeep GC were delivered with issues before any updates were available to dealers.

Re: Just ordered a LTD. Now I'm worried...

I wouldn't worry.

I have a "mid-build" '14 LTD V8. I ordered mine from the factory and it was delivered in late Aug '13. Apparently I missed many of the early issues.

I have just over 6000 city driving miles on it, in 8 months, and have yet to take it to the dealer. No maintenance, no flashing, no TSBs. I expect my oil change indicator should be going off fairly soon.

Everything has been good so far for me. I still get some occasional surging/lugging in low speed parking lot driving, like you back out of a parking space and then give it a boost and start coasting. That's likely the most "severe" issue (and that's in quote for a reason). I will mention it to the dealer when they do my oil.

I've had the display alert me that the built in phone needs to be serviced. That's happened twice, and I'll mention it also, but I don't fret over it.

Current nit is that it's struggling to see my USB stick for music. For example, I will start the car. Radio will kick on, and then, a little bit later, it'll kick in the USB stick, as if it has just been plugged in. Other times it does not see it at all, and I have to remove it and reinsert it. I don't know if this is a mechanical connection issue with the stick, the stick itself, or what. I may switch to an SD card instead, or just replaced the stick. I have not researched this either. That stick has been in the car since 2 days after I bought it, effectively untouched.

Only other issue is it detecting my FOB, but that's my phone. My iPhone 4S in the same pocket as my FOB is likely to confuse something, almost always manifesting itself when I try to lock it pushing the button on the handle. I also suffer from the 4 click rear hatch, but I rarely use it now preferring to just touch the handle to open it, as this also unlocks the truck whereas the remote entry does not. If I have a free hand to fumble with the remote FOB, I have one to open the lift gate. This is a non-issue.

And, that's it, I think. All of this written out, in excruciating detail raises the level of awareness for these things far, far higher than their impact on me, on how I use it, and how it serves me.

Love the truck.

Re: Just ordered a LTD. Now I'm worried...

I bought my 2014 Limited in July 2013 with a July 2nd build date. I have 14,000 miles on it and have had no problems. My thought is that a good percentage of Jeeps with major issues, but not all, had builds earlier than July.

I'm approaching 20k on my '14 Laredo (July build) and I love it. It's been to the dealer for an oil change and tire rotation (due for another), TSB's, and the instrument cluster recall. I never had any of the issues that TSB's or the recall fixed, I just wanted the updates while it's still under warranty.

I had one little issue over the winter, however. It was making a weird whining noise. The dealership and Jeep said it wasn't an issue. I posted the question on the forum and it seemed like no one else had experienced it. So once it went away on its own, I wasn't worried anymore.

It's my 2nd GC and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I drive with Eco off and shift into Sport Mode quite a bit and love the ride. Smooth and responsive. And it also punched through 14" of fresh snow without a problem this winter, on crappy stock Latitudes and without QL!

Re: Just ordered a LTD. Now I'm worried...

Don't know my build date but bought it 5/31/13. Minor issues like bumper alignment. Fixed by dealer (clip broke during assembly) and just software updates. Had a few tsb's performed even though I didn't have problems, just told dealer what they needed to hear, plus I have an outstanding dealer who doesn't need to "replicate" the problem before fixing it.

The only problems I have currently are the 4x lift gate issue on the remote (not a big deal to me). The interior light doesn't dim on sometimes, there is a 3 sec delay then full on. Notice it at night but is intermittent. Dealer wants to help but they think its a software issue because it happens on all for doors. Lastly when AC is on or defrost which uses the AC I hear a faint fluttering from the right vent. This I'd like fixed but no tsb and can't replicate so the dealer is unable to repair unless the get approval from Chrysler and doesn't know where to start since they can't replicate.

Other than those things, I love the jeep.

Re: Just ordered a LTD. Now I'm worried...

I realize you took the plunge but just to add one more factoid to set your mind at ease: I have June 13 build LTD 4x4 Pentastar. 23000 miles, probably 16000 towing a 2850# camper. Zero problems. Smoothest, quietest, nicest vehicle I've ever had. Crazy good mpg for such a large heavy powerful vehicle.

Gas Mileage has gotten noticeably better as the power train got broken in and trans learned how I drive. Your brand new Jeep will perform better three months from now.

If it got stolen tomorrow, I'd order the exact same vehicle the next day.

Ain't it though? We've had ours; LTD, sunroof, FF passenger seat, for only 770 miles. Had an '04 Escape prior. This is probably the best put together new vehicle I have ever bought, not one thing that needed fixing on delivery. Now If I could just get an answer from the tech about the UConnect setting for the paddle shifters....

Enjoy it, it is a blast to drive
