Just purchased new Trailhawk

Hey y'all!

The wife and I just picked up a new trailhawk and driving home I noticed the steering wheel squeaks every time it's turned. Has anyone has this before? I did a search and didn't have any luck. Also seems like the center console rattles a bit. Is this common?

Thanks!

That seems to be a characteristic of the electric power steering.

You usually hear it a slow maneuvers when the engine speed is slow and near idle.

I also would not hurt to monitor the power steering reservoir every 6 months to make sure its full.

I rented a wk2 a while back and didn't notice this. It's pretty loud, guess I'll head to the dealer.
I've got to take the center console apart also. It's creaky when there's any load on it.

Other than that the jeep is awesome!!! The 5.7 was great on the highway on the way back.

Mine does it too. My '13 Laredo E did not have the issue.

Not yet. It's due in to get checked out next week, along with a repetitive tire shake/balance issue I'm having.

I thought I felt that also. It seems to have a shimmy at 70-73 then went away.

Mine shakes pretty hard at 70-80. Pulls hard to the right as well. This will be the third time in for the tire issue.

Re: Just purchased new Trailhawk

Ive had the shimmy with mine at around 70mph as well. Had the dealer rebalance. I wonder if its the tires- Silent Armor? The 5.7 doesn't have electric steering I thought- only the V6.
