Thanks for the pics. There just seems to a lot going on here, with the seat colors, steering wheel etc.. I don't have any intention of getting rid of my Jeep as I'm very happy with it.
Still want to pay a visit to the dealer though once these come out.
just got home from the Chicago Auto Show and sat in this jeep as well. im not much of a fan of the blue/brown interior, but the new overland does look much better in person. The new interior re-fresh was nice with the new bigger nav screen. the 14's are going on me but still very happy with my 12'
Definitely having second thoughts about the indigo interior after seeing these pics. Since I cant see it in person, I may just play it safe and change my order to black.
Out of a dozen or so new cars I've owned I only kept two longer than four years. One was an '87 Bronco II with blue interior. I liked the interior as much when I got rid of it in '93 as I did in '87. If it turns out I don't like the interior, but like the Grand Cherokee, the '16s will be here soon enough.
It will be interesting to see how many indigo/brown interiors will sell once they show up on the dealers' lots.
It sure looks nicer in the official photo than in the cell phone pictures that are turning up.
That's ridiculous how worn that seat looks in a brand new show model car... Doesn't say much for the leathers durability... Not a fan of the blue interior..
While I'm a fan of the Indigo interior, I too noticed how worn the drivers seat bolsters looked work, as well the rear passengers seat on the drivers side. It could just be from where they have shuffled the 2014 from Detroit, DC and Chicago and 1000's of auto show patrons have set in them and the leather has taken a beating (hopefully that's the case). If they have built vehicles for each individual show and this is whats happening then it may be a worry, but I wouldn't think its the latter.
We all know it comes down to personal taste, but I for one loved the all black interior. So much that I got an overland and not a summit due to the brown interior which made it harder to find the exact options I wanted here in NJ.
Now if it came with silver stiches instead of pipes that would be heaven
I wouldn't worry about the wear, look at all the cars at a show, the seats are destroyed from all the in and out. You're talking about 10 years of wear in a week, and these cars travel around the country to a bunch of shows.
I mean...my Dad had a Lincoln with a navy blue leather interior...in 1990. Blue is just not a modern interior color IMHO. I know a lot of throwback interior colors are coming back, brown, saddle, reds and deep reds, but those are warm colors while blue is a cool color, warm colors and cool colors clash, which is why IMHO the blue/brown interior looks so bad. I think all blue would have been an improvement, with the white stitching, very nautical.
So far as the Jeep brown, I don't think the all brown is as rich looking as the Saddle. I think overall the interior, even though the quality is actually better, and the displays and all are clearly better, looks less rich than the previous Overland/Summit interiors.
Some car companies have a brown that looks awesome, like Audi and Nougat Brown or Infiniti and Java, but the Jeep brown just looks drab and lifeless to me.
I put a lot more faith in the stock photos over cell phone pictures under fluorescent lighting.
I'm dating a professional photographer and fluorescent lights are the worst kind of lighting to take pictures under. She thinks the pictures in this post are completely misrepresented over the stock photos from jeep.
I have that same color blue for leather furniture in the main room of my home. Love it! It goes well with the beige walls, beige carpet, and light brown woodwork.
After 11 years in an Acura with one-tone gray leather, it's exciting to see automakers taking chances. My 2014 Overland will have the indigo two-tone, because it is unlike anything I've seen in my recent browsing around. And the wife likes it too!
Summer can't get here soon enough...
