Keep It In My Pants

Now that I have to keep a FOB in my pants all the time. . .
Found that once in a while I do end up hitting the Panic button, or lock/unlock the doors. Have not yet "accidentally" started the engine. But to prevent the occasional mishap, I came up with the following project.

Just a simple clip-on shield made from thermoformed Kydex™ plastic. One source of Kydex is http://www.knifemaking.com/category_s/105.htm
There are many others.

The attached pix show how I made mine. . . this is just the "Rev.1" prototype. The next version might feature some extended tabs for a better "grip" to the Fob body. This one is doing just what the doctor ordered for now!

wreckdive - Props to you for coming up with that!

I'm ready to coordinate the group buy when you go into business selling those fob covers. Let's see, if you'd normally charge $2.99, could we get a group discount and get them for $2.49? Just askin...:D

:) lol. Know some fabs in India. . . <might> be able to make that price point, but I'll need to commit to an order of at least 1M units! :) You never know. . .

Looks interesting. I ended up getting these after an accidental remote start in my garage:

I was curious about that - the description lists the JGC 08-10 ... I assume it fits over your WK2 fob just fine? Does it just make the controls harder to activate (i.e. cut down on pocket activations?) or do you have to take it off to use the fob buttons?
