Key Fob Dead

If the fob battery dies, how would you start the G.C.

In my ex FX35, there was a slot to insert the fob so that the chip could be read. I do not see anything mentioned in the owners manual.

What year model? The '14s and up have a mention in the owners manual that you press the key fob (the end opposite the key that slides out) against the start button.

Re: Key Fob Dead

Using the keyfob itself to push the start button is the most common way to start with a dead fob, for many brands of vehicles that have a start button. I would try that first.

Re: Key Fob Dead

Starting with '14 MY the fob has a RFID chip. That's how the vehicle knows to start when you push the start button with the end of the fob opposite the the removable key.

Re: Key Fob Dead

Pretty sure you can pop off the push button to reveal the traditional key slot.

Don't try that on '14 and up. No key slot, and the button isn't designed to "pop off".
