Re: Key fob makeover

Must have been a running change during 2011 as my late April overland does not have a flipper glass button, remote start and rear hatch only labeled along with the lock and unlock.

Re: Key fob makeover

Same here, no flipper glass on my Laredo X. Used to have one on my Commander that would actually open the glass all the way up, used to scare the hell out of the wife with it lol.

Re: Key fob makeover

Actually it was an Oct. 2011 change. Only very early 2011's had both buttons. I miss not having both.

Re: Key fob makeover

My Overland was delivered with no flipper button on the fobs. I ordered a third fob from parts and it did have the button. If you want the flipper on the remote, order a replacement from parts.

Re: Key fob makeover

I paid $125 for mine including the valet key, programmed.
You can get them much cheaper on eBay, but only a dealer can program them. You cannot program even if you have two working fobs (regardless of what eBay sellers tell you).

Re: Key fob makeover

I don't think you really need a flipper button on the fob. There's one right there on the chrome trim. You would have to put down whatever you are carrying anyway in order to open the window.

Re: Key fob makeover

I'd be happier if they removed that *ing stupid PANIC button. Useless thing, I have to wonder if it's ever been used for actual safety or if it has only managed to annoy and embarrass owners through inadvertent activation.

Re: Key fob makeover

On the 2012, can you still roll down the front windows doing a double-tap and hold on the unlock button? I've heard conflicting reports on that.

The reports from 2012 owners on here is that you can't.
