dsmoovy, my bad, the RFID chip, and non removable button are 2014 MY and newer.

Those photos made me realize how ugly that fake wood grain is, so reddish and stands out. Don't know why the Laredo got the special treatment of the darker color.

I think its the flash,it looks darker in the daylight.

If that makes you happy. I think you dont realize it everytime you drive. For someone who doesn't see it daily will spot it like something punched them on the face.

But you are correct regarding how to use the push button by placing the nose of the dead FOB against the button to start.

Well, my problem is (sorta) resolved. I was able to pop off the button, push in my semi-working fob and start the truck! Since it's my wife's fob, i showed her how to do it. I was able to pull the button with my nails, but refuses to use her nails to do it! Either way, my "eBay" fob works(ish)!!! Thanks all!

If you change the way you start the car for both you and your wife, just leave the button off. If your bought the car new, button is not attached anyway, the button was sealed in the glovebox for optional use.

So by rite, you and your wife start the car like every other car back in the days
