Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

RE: 2012
Is it because of a change in the vehicle, or a change in the fob (like deleting the rear window release on the fob)?

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

Apparently they removed this feature so it no longer works in the new models. Apparently someone took jeep to court because he pressed the button by mistake and overnight it rained and his car got wet inside.

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

That's pretty lame considering that you have to hold the button down on the second press. Once again, many have to suffer because of a few.

I wonder if the feature is still there and could be enabled by a dealer?

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

I know right, Hopefully it can be, i live up north in australia where in summer it is 45 degrees celcius, it would be great to roll down the windows before i get into the car.

I'll betcha the feature is still in there, buried in the code.
It might just take somebody with a scan tool some time to find it and enable it.
(and then tell us here)

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

This has happened to me about a half dozen times since I bought my 2010 Commander. This option was not listed anywhere in any of the literature I got with it. I have tried to duplicate it several times, with no success, and it is only because of this thread that I now know this can be done on purpose, and that it really is supposed to work that way. I had just about decided it was an electronics problem, and had thought about trouble-shooting it to figure it out. Glad I decided to google it first.

Keyfob to roll windows down?

Tried on my '15 and it didn't work. It's amazing that the feature was deleted when some moron sued Jeep. I'm starting to realize there are quite a few morons driving vehicles these days.

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

I remember this worked on my 2008 Sebring. Cool feature, indeed!

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

It's a good feature (and I thought pretty much all cars did it) — but not nearly as useful as what our old Mercedes used to do in addition, which was to roll up the windows and close the sunroof when you held down the lock button on the keyfob in sufficient proximity to the door handle. I really miss that.

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

Honda vehicles will also lower and raise as well. It's nice, but on all the cars that can do this I think it's stupid that it will also open the sunroof.

Re: Keyfob to roll windows down?

This feature should just be made available in the UConnect options menu. If you want it, enable it. Roll up. Roll down. Just have it default to NO from factory so that if the same moron takes Jeep to court, then they aren't liable.

Problem solved, but apparently there are also morons that work in Jeep to not think about it.
