Haha! Glad ur fob is all good. I never forget what happened to my old audi key fob.. I parked and quickly dove in ocean with my friends when I was in college. No luck and paid few hundreds for new fob.

One time I left mine on the roof of the Jeep after removing my ski rack for the summer. It stayed up there until I hit the freeway. It took me a minute to figure out what the noise was up there, but once I did I took the nearest ramp and doubled back to the spot. Sure enough there it was, on the lane stripe between the two lanes. Waited for a big gap in traffic and ran out from the shoulder and got it. A little scuffed and obviously ran over a couple times but still in one piece and fully functional. It's the spare now

The Mercedes electronic key on the same ring was not as fortunate. At least it was a $200 lesson and not twice that.
