Land Rover vanishing hood concept - cool

Wish Jeep would have come up with this idea...

It is just a concept now, but really cool...

Re: Land Rover vanishing hood concept - cool

Yes, I saw that video...very kewel idea, especially for when one is in "rough" terrain. But honestly, it could be a major safety thing, too, being able to see what is right in front of the bumper like that. Like a little kid that shouldn't be there...

Very cool, but not sure it would be worth the cost. Also, I question how well that will hold up over a 10-12 year period.

Re: Land Rover vanishing hood concept - cool

I'd already be happy if Jeep would offer a simple heads-up-display that shows the current speed...

Re: Land Rover vanishing hood concept - cool

Hi,

I have added a camera to the front of my 2013 JGC so that I can see the road directly in front of the car. The picture is shown on the standard radio screen. I use a ALLGIG XG-HS to allow selection of the front camera, or my rear / caravan camera whenever I want. See my build thread for details - WK2: Pepe's Grand Cherokee Build Up - AUSJEEPOFFROAD.COM - AJOR

Pictures of the camera mounting description of operation in post #4 some additional details on the components used in post #8

Its not as fancy as the Land Rover idea, but it works well.

That sounds very cool and interesting, but unfortunately none of the pictures are working.

Leave it parked outside in a bad neighborhood. Take off the NRA stickers.

I think I like the rover version of the vanishing hood actually. Maybe that's just me.
