Anywho, good luck in your quest. I'm sure it's gonna cost quite a lot more to add.

Even if you can add it, it's going to cost you WAY more than just buying a vehicle with it. Frankly, even the loss of trading it in on one with it from the factory will likely cost you less money than trying to add it.

My guess is the guy who let the gem about the ATC slip has been having some BAD days at work. Imagine all the revenue and margin that guy lost his company. My guess is that the next time they get the chance, the ATC will NOT be a plug and play upgrade.

I don't think you all read my replies, i said IF the keyless go can feasibly be added,It will not bother me if it cant, i just want to find out. Ive always bought vehicles with missing options and had them added later so ive been down this road before.i don't plan to trade this jeep for one or two missing options but I wont know until i drop it off at the dealer for them to install the remote start tomorrow if the keyless go can be added as well. As soon as i know i will update everyone, just sit tight..

Service manager said Keyless go can be added to my jeep.

I dropped my Jeep off at the dealer this morning and talked to the service manager and the electrical technician and they said that keyless go CAN be added to my jeep since there already installing the remote start, they said they can go ahead and install and program the pem module and start button as well, Since ive been a longtime customer they are going to give me a discount on labor. They also told me if i wanted proximity entry for the doors and hatch that it can be added easily as well. Ive always had good experiences with this dealer and i feel that they know what there doing. Will update again once i get the jeep back...stay tuned..

Have they ever added the keyless enter and go system before? Or are you the test Jeep?

They added it to a couple of base Dodge challengers and a couple chargers, i talked to the electrical technician and he said that while the dash is apart for the remote start install, he can add and program the PEM and install the start/stop button. He mentioned that if i wanted the passive entry it also can be added ,this electrical technician has been a Chrysler tech for 30 years so i have good faith in his knowledge.

Re: Laredo Prewired for Keyless Go?

Waiting with great anticipation....

I would greatly enjoy discovering that a base Laredo can be upgraded to a Limited/X or (other than the airbag suspension) an Overland. This would mean a lot more entry-level vehicles could be sold and upgraded slowly.

A great savings (or at least a pain reducer): Just buy the drive-train you need, the sunroof (if desired), and upgrade to your hearts content as you can afford it! Re-badge (like earning "merit" badges) when you reach that particular evel of the build....

Re: Laredo Prewired for Keyless Go?

Modern manufacturing makes many upgrades plug and play. The margins on upgraded trim levels is huge. So you can add many features cheaper than buying new. If I might ask, What did it cost to add the keylessGo? I know you said they were in the dash anyway, so it may not be same everywhere.

Re: Laredo Prewired for Keyless Go?

Update: the dealer installed the remote start and backup camera which work great. They told me they could install the keyless go, but I decided to not have it installed due to cost feasibility,to me the extra cost was not worth it,besides, ill be using the remote start anyway and I'm already used to using the tip start. It's good to know it can be done though.
