I ended up with the same configuration and feel lucky I begrudgingly bought it. You will not be sorry - unless you really need the V8, the V6 is great. Make sure to try the sport option with the select-train when the weather is nice.

Re: Laredo X vs. Limited

If I would have know in June that the 2013 Limited would be offering the lux II package, I would have bought a Limited with that option because of the non gathered leather that the climate controlled seats offer with the perforation. Not a big fan of the gathered look. Also I would have taken it to a local upholstery shop and add a black leather wrap to the seat covers and headrest and leave the body of the seat the light frost beige.

Re: Laredo X vs. Limited

I all goes well, I will have a 2013 JGC Limited V6 in Red with black upholstery with the Luxury 2 package delivered on Saturday. All that remains is for me to bring my trade in for inspection by the dealer.

Good luck with the delivery. Make sure you go around the Jeep and check for any problems with paint and such. Post pics of your new ride!

Re: Laredo X vs. Limited

I paid $1730 under the Invoice. Not the best deal, but I wanted to get a 2013 rather than a 2014. I was a little nervous about the 2014 because of the extensive refresh. And I was not in love with the spy photos of the front end.

Have a '12 Limited and don't think I have the turn indicators in mirror (visible to the driver).

Memory seats was a big reason I went for the Limited. I'm 6'1 and wife is 5'4 so we are always moving the seat back n forth. Worth the extra in my mind.

I meant the mirror housing, not on the actual mirror part itself. Wasn't talking about turn indicators visible to the driver (no Grand Cherokees have that). The turn indicators are visible when you unlock or remote start the Limited (or Overland, or SRT) from outside, and also visible with the turn signal on to other drivers approaching from the front. You have those on the mirror on Limiteds and up in the U.S. Export models have the turn indicators on the fenders or doors instead of on the mirror housings.

I agree, the memory settings are handy. I use them also to adjust the mirrors after lowering the mirrors for parallel parking when I have to back in to a tight spot. Oh yea, Limited also has reverse mirror settings. Never used that on my Overland. I don't know if Laredo X does. Also, easy entry seat and steering wheel movement is in the EVIC on Overland and possibly on Limited with Lux package if it's a 2012 or earlier with the power tilt/telescopting steering wheel. I've never used the easy access feature either.

Re: Laredo X vs. Limited

To me the decision between the two really depends on the deal at the time. At the time we were able to get a much better deal on the Laredo X, the financing was better, etc. The Limited would have cost a good bit more.

The only thing I really miss from the Limited is the memory seats. HIDs are nice, but the memory seats are the big thing IMHO since we both drive the Jeep regularly.

Re: Laredo X vs. Limited

The HID headlights also have auto-leveling and more importantly smart beam headlights which turn the brights on in darkness, and then dim them to the lows for oncoming traffic. The memory wipers are also a nice feature.

Re: Laredo X vs. Limited

Eh. I've had HID headlamps with auto-leveling since 1998. My new Lexus and the one before that have adaptive lighting that follows the steering inputs and the road. I've had auto wipers since 2003. Smart beam headlights? My Dad had that on a Lincoln back in the 90s.

I don't really miss any of that when I get out of the Lexus and into the Jeep. I certainly wouldn't pay several thousand dollars and a significantly higher interest rate for it. $1,500 and the same rate? Sure, but that wasn't the situation when I bought. If it is now, go for it.

Part of it too is that I have a luxury car, I wanted the Jeep to be..."Jeep-y". I liked the fact that the Laredo X was a little more plain. If the Jeep is your luxury car, I can see why that stuff would be more important.
