About to order 2011 Jeep GC Overland, wondering now about the deadline for the 2011 model. saw a comment about 2012 model being 4 months away. Anybody have information to share?
Does the 8 speed trans not show up for the 2012 MY? I read that it will only be available for the V6 for the Chrysler 300...will this be the case for the Jeep engine choices also?
I was facing the same dilemma and decided to order. With the unexpected sales figure of the high-end models compared to laredo, i would not be surprised to see Jeep increasing the high- end price so it stays a niche product compared to lower scale models. My dealer told me they have'nt sold a single laredo yet, only overland and a few limited.
I would expect a greater price differentiation too...... Perhaps some of both, with the Laredo hitting a key lower price point such as $29,995 for 4x2 and $31,995 for 4x4 with a bump up of maybe $500 or more ($1,000?) at the higher trim levels.
According to wk2jeeps.com, ordering opens 1 June, with a 1 Sept launch, which I think means it will be about 1 Sept for the initial 2012 deliveries. Your mileage may vary.
My local dealer told me April 15th is the last day to order...but maybe he was just trying to make sure I get an order in well before the end of the month!
Around here, the lots are mostly Laredos that I don't think are moving. They're always base models, too. Very few options. Rarely are there any X's.
And, yeah, as soon as you look at a Laredo X, the price bump to get into a Limited is slight. Then you look at the Limited, and the price bump to get into an Overland is slight.
