I will be ready to lease around March or April. When do the 2016s come out? I would hate to get a new vehicle and then it immediately be an old vehicle

AFAIK, sales launch for MY16 is currently scheduled for December.

Last time I checked, lease rates for MY15 were quite good - certainly better than when I leased in November.

Lease rates are excellent right now. On my 2015 Overland I got:

.00022 money factor (about .53% interest rate)
53% residual

This was a 36 month, 15k mile lease for the CRD. On the hemi, residual is 52%.

Nothing due at signing except the first month.
Those were the numbers I was initially hoping for and especially the residual they are now using on Overland and Summit is far more realistic.

I don't feel too bad though. After all, my higher monthly payments mean that I'm probably able to trade in my lease in 2 years from today without negative equity - and that would be after after only 27 of the originally scheduled 39 months.

At least that's what I came up with when comparing the current numbers on a 2-year lease two what I've paid 2 years from now (27 payments)...;)

Mike-Mike, it sounds like your best choice is to go for the MY15. If you want to take delivery in March/April, you may want to consider placing your order 4-8 weeks prior to your target date if you are going to order "exactly what you want".

It's a 2011 Cadillac CTS AWD Premium, so it is pretty sweet. However I got a good deal on it buying it used. They don't keep their resale value very well either.

Her mama insist she have AWD and not too many miles and not too old. So using that criteria their isn't a huge gap between the value of the Caddy and a used car that fits her mama's requirements.

I think that was a good decision on your part relative to a ride for your daughter. We'll have to be thinking about this same thing later in the summer when your youngest turns 16. AWD and something "newer" is going to be a requirement here...too many safety issues with older vehicles these days.

It sounds like your timing plan will also work.

I was giving her driving lessons last night and repeatedly expressed the importance of not getting too close to the curb. Talked all about road rash and flat tires.

So of course today not paying attention I rubbed a curb putting road rash all over the front wheel.

Just find a lease calculator. Please do some research about how leases work first though. They can be very good deals if you know what you're doing. Or they can be very bad deals. Don't focus on the monthly payment - focus on the numbers.

Look at ridewithg.com for some info. And look at this thread for some numbers: http://forums.edmunds.com/discussio.../2015-jeep-grand-cherokee-lease-questions/p16

Try to get a sense of the dealer as you look around.
Some treat leases as an excellent way to provide a good supply of used vehicles.
Others treat leases as a way to gouge customers with nasty balloon payments or multi-thousand dollar charges for parking lot dings.

Also, see what the conditions are should you want to do any sort of add ons or customization. Some leases will allow it as long as you return it without them, some can void the lease.

You'll also want to talk to your insurance agent about the best protection for you should you go with a lease.

A good honest dealer might steer you toward specific models and options based on what you can expect have as residual value in your area where if you were to buy you'd pick different options.

I just ran some numbers on my lease and it turns out that I have a residual of 49% and a MF of .00072 which reflects an interest-rate of about 1.73% on my 39-month lease.

In regards to the MF, I know for sure that the one I got was the one that was in effect and published by Chrysler Capital the day I signed the lease - so I didn't pay any up-charge on that.
