Lease Question

When you lease, Do you have to take your Jeep back the dealership you got it from to have work done(i.e. problems with it, general service, pretty much anything Jeep covers with the lease) or can it be any Jeep dealership?

Re: Lease Question

Any 'ole dealer will do. To many people move to make ya stick with the leasing dealer.

Re: Lease Question

You do not, I leased from one dealer and take it for service to another that is closer to my home.

no one takes care of leased cars? hmm.

To the OP: Once the lease is signed, the dealer has no additional interest in the car. Financial responsibility is between you and the bank (Ally?) and warranty/service work is between you and Jeep. Jeep franchises their dealers, and as such any dealer in the US will warranty/service the vehicle, typically required under their franchise.

Re: Lease Question

Don't lease! Why put $$$ into something for 3 or so years and have nothing to show for it at the end?

Leasing works for some others it doesn't. There are benefits including lower payments, not worrying about repairs down the road, etc. Downside is not being able to customize and paying 100% for something added. I leased my JGC about 6 months ago and am already looking forward to my next one in just 2 1/2 years.

Unless you plan on purchasing the car at lease end (which most people don't do) or just can't afford a higher payment, IMO the GC is not the best car to lease, particularly in higher end trims. Even if they give you a good money factor (rate), the residual on these cars is probably about 10% lower than a comparable Japanese SUV (i.e. Lexus RX, Acura MDX, or Toyota 4Runner). So, you'll be paying more depreciation for the time you are in the car. Perhaps this trend will reverse for Chrysler with their recent quality upgrades.

It seems like they are offering better incentives on the Laredo, so that may be a slightly different story.

That is very true. I was leasing either way, but that is one of the big reasons I leased a Laredo and not a Limited. For some reason the residual on the Laredo is much higher and the money factor was different. For a mere difference of $1,250 on the sticker the Limited would have cost me $150 more per month.
