I am lucky, I get to drive a company car to and from work, so most of the time my Jeep sits in the garage. I mostly drive on the weekends and take a few trips during the summer, so the miles are kept low. This is my fourth Jeep and by far the best ever made fit and finish. I may even decide to keep this one after the lease is up, Nah who am I kidding I live for the newest and greatest, so I am sure by the time this lease is up the new Jeeps will a ton of new stuff that I must have, and so the cycle begins again LOL. Good luck with your new ride, the wait is worth it.

Re: Leasing '11 GC Laredo X - Opinion/Comments

I have a Laredo X with the pano roof and I pay 545 a month 2k total out of pocket. I know its really high, but I leased my jeep the week it came out it was 1 of 4 on the lot. Residual value at that time was estimated to be low.

If I wasn't desperate for a car I would have waited. But all in all I LOVE my jeep. My mom has leased 4 consecutive grand cherokee's but now currently has a Lexus RX400h and HATES it. She always tries to steal my car.

My wife and I are awaiting delivery of our build order 26x. I squeezed the price down to $34500. We are financing with 0 down at 3.9% for 72 months, and our payments are $540/month. Based on that, I think you can do better on the lease.

Re: Leasing '11 GC Laredo X - Opinion/Comments

For decades, financial advisors preach leasing is undesirable. For decades, I have blown holes in that rational. I do agree, the decision is personal preference. Again, leasing since 1989. Heck, on 2 separate occassion's, my lease had equity and I sold for a bit more than the pay-off price at end of lease. That does not happen often.

I am still waiting for our truck. God damn it, this is the first time I ever had to wait for a vehicle over 2 weeks and its killing me. Our sales person is a cool guy though, he calls me everyday updating me of what's happening. He said it should be here by Friday. Can-not-wait.

The shipment was delayed from Tuesday to Thursday midnight. UGH!

I don't know which sunroof you wanted, but I originally was considering the Laredo X with pano roof and nav. This took me close to Limited, so I made sad eyes to wife and came up with about $1000 to go Limited. The upgraded interior and HID headlights are nice.

It's the regular sunroof not the pano. I didn't want to put a factory order in, it was a pre-built vehicle which was already in transit to the dealer so I went with that. It had everything I wanted except HID. The dealer gave me the vehicle for 36500 altho msrp was 38500.

Since it IS my wife's vehicle, she didn't want wood grain or any of that. If this vehicle behaves well then I might pull the trigger on a 2013 SRT-8 for myself. We will see.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "upgraded interior" of the limited versus a Laredo-X. They both look identical in every way to me as far as the interior goes. I guess the limited has heated rear seats though. For me the main reason I went with a Laredo-X versus a limited is that I really don't like the chrome look (mirrors, door handles, wheels) of the limited, but that's just a personal preference.

For that type of payment, leasing would be a waste, whether you're afraid of it breaking or not.
-You have a full 100K mile warranty, which you won't use in 3 years, because you're leasing, and if you drove that many miles in 3 years you'll spend more due to mileage limitations and extra costs
-You'll be paying nearly half the car off in 3 years, and you'll have some equity by then, at the end of the lease you have nothing
Be smart... get something back... I recommend buy.

Re: Leasing '11 GC Laredo X - Opinion/Comments

You have no equity in a purchased vehicle either. A 40,000 Jeep is not worth 40,000 after 3 years.
