Yeah, class action is what we really need--not.
Company settles, lawyers take all the money, customers get a coupon for a free key fob.

I just got two last week. I'm in the southern California area. How did they get our information?

Dealers tend to sell marketing lists... it's the same reason you get all those frantic extended warranty reminders and insurance offers.

Hopefully your experience with the customer service/escalation team is better than mine was. It was non-stop incompetence like I could never dream of in my dealings with them.

Greetings,

Could not have said any better. And that is why the dealerships have to band together and advocate the proper way. Instead of the lawyers getting the $$$$$, the consumer should get the just repair. At the end of the day, somehow the dealers get more than than selling the client info.

Best for now.

Be careful,

One of these maggots might become the President of the USA one day.

This is how those types become millionaires.

Re: Letters from lawyers

Funny how people generalize. Saying all lawyers are maggots is like saying all cops are liars. Or all Americans are greedy. Or all Muslims are terrorists. Or all....you get the picture.

Re: Letters from lawyers

No one said "all lawyers" are maggots, well only one poster did.

Not all layers are but the maggots but these antics really upset some folks.

Re: Letters from lawyers

I'm not a huge fan of attorneys trolling for business like this, but I can't complain about my right to use lemon laws to go after a massive corporation that I otherwise would never in a million years be able to win against in court (my resources vs theirs).

I've done lemon law twice: once vs BMW and once vs Chrysler.

BMW: Long story short, 30 pages of service records of major issues. Eventually, the dealership just said "we cant fix this and we won't replace the car." So what are you supposed to do when you hear that? Without the lemon law it would be me against the 10,000 lb gorilla - translation: I probably lose. With the Lemon law, it's me and the state attorney general/state law vs them. Much much better odds. Very good for consumers and good for auto manufacturers too. It gives the manufacturer something to rally around when working to prevent defects: "We reduced lemon law claims by x% last year because of stepped up quality efforts." Accountability can be a good thing for both sides.

Chrysler: Generally good experience working with the customer service folks. Didn't actually have to use an attorney. The writing was on the wall and they did a buy-back. Problem solved in a reasonable manner.
