Limited uconnect specs and MPG expectations

Hey all,

Possibly being in the market for a new jeep in the next few months, I have already started my research and went for a test drive of the limited. The limited I drove had the 8.4 inch uconnect screen but oddly enough on the Jeep.com site the standard one is 5.0. Am I missing something? I was always under the impression that the limited came standard with an 8.4 inch display.

Also, living in NYC does anyone know how much MPG I should expect to get with the standard pentastar engine?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Limited uconnect specs and MPG expectations

Humm, I don't know much about the Limited models, but I would be almost certain that they all have the 8.4 as well. Whether they all have navigation is something that might be optional. Even that I would think is pretty much standard on Limited.
Fuel economy in NYC will be poor. Then again any car short of a hybrid will have poor fuel economy in NYC. If you are mostly downtown in the heart of the city I would expect low to maayyybee mid teens. Again, with that kind of driving even most cars would be in that range as well. Out in the suburbs is where you can expect high teens maybe even 20, then highway will get you 23-25ish.

8.4 screen is an upgrade, includes nav

My mileage has been as low as 19 in city and as high as 28 on the open road.

8.4 is an upgrade; navigation is yet another.

Thanks for the input everyone. Comes as a surprise to me as the Altitude has the 8.4 standard. Granted the Limited has more features so I guess they had to make some cost reductions even though I really wish I wouldn't need to add the Luxury Group 2 option package that costs an additional $4,200.

Edit: Just checked the site again and the 8.4 is a stand alone option for $795.00

Unless you dislike having a sunroof, the Luxury II option is worth it. 8.4 screen, LED/HID headlights, ventilated front seats, and the panoramic sunroof (which my wife and I have come to love). For 2015s, it also means the 9 speaker audio system with subwoofer, which was standard on 2014 Limited models.

I'm not exactly sure what the definition of "city" driving is where you're at in Kentucky, but there is no way in a V6 Grand Cherokee would achieve 19mpg in NYC. I'm sure the OP appreciates the input, but just don't want him to think its capable of that in a major city.

Citywise I get 16 - 17mpg and 21-23 highway at 80mph. Unless you have a lead foot like me, you'll do much better in NYC.

I would love to have all those features but that all depends on how much of a deal I can get on the limited as I'm aiming to lease it.
