Limited vs Overland

A friend of mine is buying a fully loaded Limited, rather then an Overland. I forgot what the differences are, does anyone know? My guess is no QuadraLift. In retrospect, I really did not need Quadra Lift at all.

QL can be had on Ltd as a part of one of off-road packages.

The leather interior is different, napa leather in the overland. Not sure if you get vented seats either. The biggest detail-No overland badge on the liftgate & no overland emblem sewn into the front seats.

Maybe no power liftgate.....and the price is slightly lower I've been told on the overland. Don't hold me to all of that.

That's off the top of my head.

Re: Limited vs Overland

When I did the math, the Overland made much more sense. The Overland was already looking to be about the same price but with many more little niceties. This was before I realized the hitch receiver was standard, which sealed the deal.

A FULLY LOADED LIMITED has all of that stuff too (same leather/vented and power lift gate and same wheels and tow hitch when all options are selected.

The difference is that the Overland has leather on the dash and side door trim as well as real wood trim on the dash and side door trim, and Quadra Lift (but you might be able to get that on a Limited as well with the right option - I'm not sure though). Overland is a better price as I've priced both and the Overland is cheaper compared to a fully loaded Limited, but the price is very close.

Re: Limited vs Overland

You have to go to the overland V8 to get the limited slip rear.

A fully loaded Limited is much more than the overland, but the overland price has just jumped about $500. No as much difference now.

Re: Limited vs Overland

When I went looking, the two options I wanted to add were the pano roof and 20" wheels. That made the limited cost more than the overland. so we went with the overland and got a bunch more stuff with it for a lower price, vented seats with the piping around them, heated rear seats, heat wood steering wheel, power lift gate...

Re: Limited vs Overland

3 Reasons I did not buy the Overland and went with a Limited with some extra options (wanted the ACC and Ventilated seats)

1. I did not want a wooden steering wheel.
2. Did not want air suspension.
3. Overland selection was *MUCH* smaller, and 80% of my dealer's Overlands had the Hemi, which in hindsight I probably should have gotten, but at the time wanted the V6. The options for negotiating price on the Overlands was not as good as the bargaining power of the Limiteds (Laredos even better). I did not want to order and wait as long as some people.

I wish I got the 20" wheels too, although now I have my 18s for possible winter tires in the future.

Re: Limited vs Overland

Another difference is the Limited has an interior option of Black dash and trim with Light Frost seats. Overland is Dark Frost dash and trim with Light Frost seats.

Re: Limited vs Overland

The only problem with get an optioned up mid spec is resale. You will always get better resale on a top spec than an optioned mid spec.

If you got a better bargain on the Limited than you could have with an Overland, then the lessor price on resale of the optioned up Limited was already taken into account so it is a wash versus non-optioned up Overland.

Oddly, the Limiteds may be rarer than the Overlands when it is time to resale...usually it is the opposite in previous years.

Re: Limited vs Overland

The "wooden" steering wheel is only on Overland.
