Same with puddle lights.

The limited comes with heated wheel even without the lux II package. The wood is also real. The main difference is the outside mirrors, leather on dash, color of leather and the painted wheel arches and bumpers. I wanted the leather dash and power mirrors, but hate the painted wheel arches. I got white and it doesn't look right. Last years overland had them black. It looks fine on darker colors though.

One more thing that I forgot: the Overland's wood is real, while the Limited's is fake.

Re: Limited vs. Overland?

I have exactly what the OP is asking about. A decked out black Limited and I saved the 2300 and I am happy with it. Yes on any other trim, the plastic wheel arches might not look as cool but on a black car they are just fine. I did jot want a leather dashboard and I hated the slippery wood on the steering wheel so I am happy with mine. And yes it is heated.

Puddle lights...nope. Not for me...and I did not want the panoramic roof either but I had no choice. I love my truck and I personally believe that the 2300 dollar difference is not justified. But to each his own.

Re: Limited vs. Overland?

I need to go look at the 2 side by side at the dealer. I'm not sure I'm in love with the leather dash either. Apart from astethics, I wonder what it's going to look like after 2-3 years in the sun...

But I do like the two tone seats available in the overland.

Look at the 2011 Overlands/Overland Summits if you want to know how the leather dash will look 2-3 years from now.

'smatter, never handled a rattlesnake that ate a coyote before?

It is a tad large, oddly enough after a while it seems almost right.

The Power Folding Mirrors are also useful for:

- Parking in Tight Spaces
- Folding the mirrors for a car wash
- General Coolness

I'd go for the Overland.

Re: Limited vs. Overland?

I think the $2,300 is fully justified.

You'll get the quadra-lift suspension which kicks ass, amazing interior (leather everything, cool dashboard, even little things like the areas in the back of the hatch floor area are brushed aluminum vs. plastic in the limited).

Exterior is fully painted, chrome towhooks, seat embroidery, power folding mirrors which i use daily, awesome steering wheel, etc. etc. The list goes on. You only live once. It's $2,300 on a ~50k car. $38/month or whatever (a million ways to do that math ).

I absolutely love my '14 Overland.

I cannot remember what exactly is in the back of the hatch area that is so worthy of praise but the runners on the cargo floor are aluminium as is the insert on the rear bumber by the cargo door. But even if it isn't, and it is nickel plated plastic - it is not an area that auto critics and car connoisseurs and forum enthusiasts speak too highly of.

There is no list that goes on an on. There is the Overland badge; the Overland inserts on the seats (same seats); the chrome hooks (vs. black); the power folding mirrors (vs. manual folding); the whole body painting (vs. the wheel arches plastic cladding); the wood insert on the steering wheel (vs. fully leather); the puddle lights (vs. none) and the leather dashboard (vs. plastic). And a larger selection of interior colors and combos.

This money goes into aesthetics, not function, which might help with resale. To each their own but it should not be construed that getting an Overland nets you a technologically superior, infinitely cooler and classier car. On a Limited outfitted with Lux II; ORA II; Adv. Tech Gr. you get the same Overland prowess and coolness less some bling - that can amount to the sales tax in some states. People should stick to buying Overland if it means happiness and security with their buying decision.
