Re: Limited vs Overland. V6 or V8?

Thats 4k saved, but I think the extra features of the OL over a Laredo X are probably worth 4k+. I gotta say though getting a new Laredo is a hell of a lot better proposition for this generation than it was in the previousl generations. Fit and finish seems to be excellent no matter the model and standard equipment is pretty high regardless of trim. If you can stomach the wait I'd still go with the Overland. I just don't feel like saving 4 grand is good enough of a discount to go down two trim packages.

February??? That's terrible. I have been waiting 9 weeks for my Overland. I like the seat/leather on the Overland compared to Laredo and Limited.

Ordered Overland Black on Black with V6.

Re: Limited vs Overland. V6 or V8?

Did you notice the difference between overland and limited behing the jeep front grille?

overland

limited
http://www.fototime.com/5FA3F09C7884291/standard.jpg

Overland has a mesh and limited has a plastic grille. What are the other differences? I know about:
1) Overland has a leather dash vs a plastic dash in limited
2) Overland has the overland embroided on chairs
3) Overland has wood vs plastic inserts
4) Overland has wood steering wheel?
5) Overland has additional optional equipment QL, quadra drive
6) Overland has 20' wheels by default
7) Overland has navigation by default

In Canada, Overland is 2500$ more. If you add #6 and #7 for 1k to the limited, you get a limited within 1500$ of similar overland. For 1.5k, you get #1-#4. For me that is not worth it. I would order an overland only for QL or quadra drive ...

Re: Limited vs Overland. V6 or V8?

I would've loved the Overland, but over my budget. I got the Laredo X, Hemi and panoramic roof...my last Jeep was an 06 Limited and I'll confirm what my sales guy said - the 2011 Laredo X is better than the WK Limited. The fit and finish is superb and the X package gives you a lot of goodies...

Now, if money isn't an object, that's a different story!

Re: Limited vs Overland. V6 or V8?

I got the limited first because there were no overlands to be had with all the options and color I wanted.

My limited all the option packages which makes me feel cheated that I didn't get the extra touches like the wood wheel and QL.

But, the more I thought about it I feel I made a good choice. I am happy with the limited from a couple of stand points. The wheel on the overland is way to thick for my comfort. Plus I am not sure how the leather dash or the QL will hold up being the first crack at it and late availability (ie quality issues noticed in manufacturing) I know I won't keep this jeep past the basic warranty, but still having to take the car in all the time to fix issues is a pain. I owned a Range Rover for 3 years and I know the pain in that. It was in the shop at least once a month for suspension, electronics, transmissions.....

Just my point of view on the topic......I do love all models of the new GC. I hope they all hold up and prove any of us that might doubt wrong.

It's a lot of money either way and if you keep your cars for a long time you want to be happy with everything. Wait and order exactly what you want. And you do want the Overland!
